Looks for 'like' button

Peckham has always been its own unique place. Whatever community has decided to make it their home, that pioneering community spirit, rooted in its rural history has always held firm and set it apart from other 'villages' in London. Whatever anyone thinks of its present guise or its evolving guise, I do hope this will always be true. It's not the new anything, it's itself.

Louisa.

If Peckham was likened to anything it would definitely be more Shorditch than Brixton.

Shorditch became 'cool' because of its popularity with artists and creatives and start-up buisinesses.

Brixton has never had that art scene going on, more of a foodie bar scene.

    • Please be aware that there is a huge sheet of ice approx 12ft x 6ft on the road at the top end of Avondale Rise on the left hand side approaching Ivanhoe Road.  The council was told earlier this morning, but advised that, due to a reduced service, it is unlikely that grit /salt will be spread before Monday!  Several (thankfully minor) accidents have happened since this morning.  A resident has thoughtfully erected a temporary sign to advise traffic of the hazard, but bearing in mind that temperatures are due to fall to -4 over the weekend and this is on a bus route, please be very careful if driving on this road.
    • Paul was great for us - came round at an ungodly hour of the day at short notice to fix a problem. Very nice bloke too
