Hi east dulwich

I would ask you all to stop the witch hunt on "ANGRY NIGEL"(his names not even nigel) he is a good driver and has been for the past 30 years and soon too retire. Most of you go on as your sooo hard done by but just use an oyster and instantly you'll solve the problem ,do you really think we want to check your passes,I was assaulted for doing that last year,no we want to get to where we are going, do our job and go home, we don't want the stress ,whinging, moaning and bitching every time we work, you all have a very good bus service with a choice of 6 services and a station, just thank us for our work and you'll encounter happy drivers.

Some of you have been good enough to defend my friend and for this you have my thanx this thread does not apply to you you're welcome on my bus and have a nice day

Hello east dulwich

Now, although I'm not allowed in the issues section that hasn't stopped me from keeping up to speed on the behaviour of the local git Nigel. Like so many of these threads that have been thrown up because of poor or shoddy customer service on behalf of a large corporation or government agency this thread had been blown entirely out of proportion. There have been many angles as to why the travelling experience created by Nigels attitude to his job and passengers is such a torturous experience. These have ranged from 'is he paid enough' or 'perhaps the customer should take some responsibility'. These in themselves are valid reasons that the experience of bus journeys is indeed awful but there is one question that has gone unanswered and could answer the turmoil of public transport.....was the experience really that c_ntish.

To answer this question however we really must address the expression, 'what is c_ntish?'

C_ntish

(Exp) (Euph)

"An instance where irreparable damage is caused to the dignity of somebodies person"

"To act like a c_nt"

(Oxford English dictionary, 2009)

Many of you will feel that Nigel's behaviour does merit the use of this word. I personally feel differently. There are varying layers and levels of c_ntish but no other level remains as painful as being f_cked over by the state/local authority/establishment. The reason being that we often can't do anything about it. It happens and we all have to get over it but that never stops us from remembering that parking fine that everyone knew was unjustified or the time you were awarded 3 penalty points on your license for going over the speed limit in Limehouse even when you were following the flow of traffic 0n July the 3rd 2006.

Do you see my point?

What I'm about to show you is probably the best celebration of c_ntish on behalf of the state, for that reason it is termed 'officially c_ntish'. This youtube clip celebrates the term because it is a combination of cunning and cruelty in it's method and execution. What happens at 0:43 on the clip is the most shocking case the term we've discussed (just look at face of the poor victim), what happens at 1:15 on the clip, well...that's just plain offensive.

    • Every year they ask for more and every year it is an exhausting process pushing back on that for local residents and councillors. What annoys me is that at the post event consultation/ feedback this year, I specifically asked them if the rumours around applying for two weekends next year were true. They told me no. So that was a lie. Anyway, we go again.

    • Rant ahead: You're not one of them but unfortunately, there's a substrate of posters here that do very little except moan and come up with weird conspiracy theories. They're immediately highly critical of just about any change, and their initial assumption is that everyone else is a total fucking contemptible idiot. For example: don't you think that the people who run the libraries will have considered the impact of timing of reconstruction on library users? (In fact, we know they have - because they've made arrangements at other libraries to attempt to mitigate the disruption). After all, these are the people that spend their whole working week thinking about libraries and dealing with library users (and the kids especially). You don't go into the library game for the chicks and fame - so it's fair to assume that librarians are committed to public service and public access to libraries, including by kids. Likewise the built environment people (engineers, architects, construction managers, project managers, construction contractors, subcontractors or whoever is on this job) are told to minimise disruption on every job they do. The thing that occurs to us as amateurs within 30 seconds of us seeing something is probably not something a full time professional hasn't thought about! Southwark Council, the NHS, TfL, Dulwich Estate, Thames Water, Openreach - they're not SPECTRE factories filled with malevolent chaosmongers trying to persecute anyone. They're mostly filled with people who understand their job and try to do their best with what they've been given - just like all of us. Nobody is perfect or immune from challenge, and that's fair enough, but why not at least start from the assumption that there's a good reason why things have been done the way they have? Any normal person would be pleased that their busy, pretty, lively local library is getting refurbished, and will have more space and facilities for kids and teens, and will be more efficient to run and warmer in winter. But no, EDT_Forumite_752 had kids who did an exam 20 years ago, and this makes them an expert on library refurbishment who can see it's all just stuff and nonsense for the green agenda and why can't it all be put off... 😡😡😡
    • I completely misread the previous post, sorry. For some reason I thought the mini cooper was also a police vehicle, DUH.
