I think it's a great school, with good staff and governors. Like any school it has it's problems but I think it is important to visit and chat to the staff to get a feel for the school. I can tell you why I like it, and why my youngest will follow her brother there in time, but I think you need to visit. Email if you do visit as I would be interested to know what you think.

Thanks nunhead lass, I really appreciate your reply.

We've just been offered a place there for my daughter to start in January - it wasn't on our list of 4, but now I've looked properly the results seem to be improving massively, and I'm hearing a lot of positive stuff about it. Very frustrating that its school holidays and I can't go for a visit now!

HI there. I looked at it for my boy - also starting Jan 2010 but at Ivydale. I really liked it. The only reason I didn't put it down was because nursery for my younger one is totally the other direction and it would have been a complete nightmare to get everyone to where they need to be every day. We were shown round by the head who I really liked. Parents I've met form there all seem to like it too! Good luck!!

Just to add, my daughter is going there from september. I was really reticent but now I've met the teacher, the headmistress, the other mums and one of the governors I feel much much better. I was told that they've had a stable board of governors for over 18 months now and that they are really turning the place around.
I used to be a governor at Hollydale and have also worked as a part-time volunteer there. I think it is a lovely school. It has extremely dedicated teachers and support staff. An experienced and supportive senior management team. It's a creative school, with a friendly, down to earth and open approach.

    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
    • Sorry to be dim, but where has that link come from and why is it relevant to this thread? I'm not doubting you, just wondering if I've missed something above!
