Any ideas? My little man will 3 on the first Sunday of December. He keeps asking when he can have his own birthday party so of course, he can have one in December! I rang the Herne and figured out with everything it would be ?300ish - not good within the month of Christmas!

Thinking around 10 kids...

My son is only 2, but I've heard that a good rule of thumb for very small people's birthday parties is to limit guests to your child's age. So that would be your son plus 3 guests. Has anyone got any experience on this? I just thought it would also keep costs down.

Luckily he's not started nursery yet so we might be able to keep numbers down this year! He's mad on Softplay so I could look into that..

I was hoping to combine it with lots of adult friends too as a pre Christmas get together though he will probably never forgive me for that!

We had a party at Gambado in Beckenham, which was a great venue and surprisingly well organised - party host collects presents and keeps them for you, keeps a list of guests so everyone gets in quickly even if they arrive a bit early/late, and a reserved area of seating for parents while the kids are playing. I had a look at their website and it is currently ?8.50 per child for under 4s parties, including food.

WE have always had lots of adults at P Pulse.. the room is OK.. not a pug obviously though.

Darrell Rd community ctre is quite a good price, could hire that and do some food/games?

yes darrell road has east dulwich community centre which has reasonable rates. google them for website. 2 halls so can have one for kids (lots of room to run around) and other smaller hall for adults. also has small kitchen. playground out back if weather is okay.

on another recent thread someone talks about there also being a scout hut nearby for hire.

    • Some 4-day party! Sorry, just my view, but I feel random fireworks are really anti-social. If scheduled, with plenty of notice, people who need to can at least escape for the duration (well most people, I guess). I know those who adore fireworks will feel differently, but they can cause so much costly suffering and damage to animals and owners.
    • I was woken around midnight the other night as a Lime man tried to untangle a heap of three bikes someone had piled on my driveway. They block the pavements and people knock them over in frustration. I wrote to Lime and told them that in future any bikes left near my property would be securely stored away for collection at a mutually convenient time for both parties. I confiscated one at the weekend but a man knocked on our door looking to rent it while I was at work and my son gave it to him! I told Lime it's not fair of them to push the problem on to the local collection depots, they create the problem by allowing users to dump the things wherever they like. If they were penalized for doing so that would put an end to it.

"I’m proud to be an advice volunteer at Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS), a community that welcomes and supports refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in Southwark. Right now, we’re facing the toughest moment in our nearly 30-year history. Unless we raise funds this September, we may not be able to keep offering the hot meals, English classes, advice, and safe community space that so many people rely on. That’s why I’m asking you to support our emergency Crowdfunder: 👉https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-sdcas  Even a small donation, or sharing this with your friends and family, will make a huge difference in helping us to reach our £70,000 goal and keep SDCAS open. This place means so much to me, and to everyone who walks through our doors 💛.Thank you for your support in spreading the word.  ... Be sure to tag us @SouthwarkAsylum on Facebook and @sdcascommunity on Instagram We really value your support, £70K is an ambitious goal but we know our dedicated supporters can get us over the line!
