toast
HelloWe have just moved up Mundania/ Forest Hill Road way and are keen for our 3 1/2y old to have a little break from us and socialise every day. Apart froom Goodrich Nursery (which i don't think we will get into even by January) I can't find any other places in the area (within 1/2 mile) that do this type of short stint. Am i missing something? Any advice appreciated. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7506-problem-finding-2-12h-nursery-slots/ Share on other sites

plimsoul
do any of the local primaries have attached nurseries that you could apply to for your free half day allowance? we send our 2 to dog kennel hill and every day they're there for 2 1/2 hours and love it. but, you suffer the school holiday time table.i'm sure that you'd already thought of it but it's certainly worth applying for. hpsaucey
Goodrich seem pretty disorganised although maybe its changed, so I wouldn't hold out on a place there. Put my boy's name down when he turned 3 - that was a year ago last June and we've never been contacted although they did tell ups we would be contacted last October. Apparently they only contact you in date of birth order when a place comes available, AND they won't even let you apply until you're little'un has already turned three. A friend applied and eventually (after almost a year) got offered a place but only if she could start 2 days later - rubbish! toast
Thanks for adviceHave tried primaries but places seem like gold dust and Goodrich has also lost my forms and i had to fill out new ones so yes agree about disorganisation. Planning on ringing around the primaries again at the start of term. Will also check in with Puddleducks and Buds, had assumed they were looking for fulldayers. Thanks again Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7506-problem-finding-2-12h-nursery-slots/#findComment-236859 Share on other sites
hpsaucey
Probably too far for you but Ivydale seemed far more friendly and accomodating. Don't know how booked up they get though. Good luck! Mellors
Bojangles on Upland Rd does half days, but they are a bit longer than 2 1/2 hours I think so you have to pay the difference.Blossoms Montessori on Dunstans do full days 10 - 4 or some such, so you could use your free time for 2 full days instead of 5 mornings? tallgirl
St Mary's Rd pre-school on St Mary's Rd, Nunhead (Evelina Rd end) is excellent. The staff have been there for many years and they take children from 2.5-5 (yes even with pull-ups too if they are not yet potty trained)and can deal with special needs. Their sessions are 3 hours from sept, 9.15-12.15. Term starts on 8th Sept.
