Childrens entertainer -reasonably priced!!

Has anyone hired a children's entertainer recently that doesn't cost the earth? I have one quote so far; ?100 for 40 minutes, is this the going rate? If so I think I should switch jobs pronto!

I looked into this a couple of months ago and this is, indeed, the going rate. In fact, I had several quotes that were much more than this. Instead of hiring an entertainer, I've roped in some friends to do face painting, story-telling and balloon modelling which only costs a few pounds plus a few hours spent watching youtube videos on how to model a balloon dog!
