Watch yourselves as you cycle along Upland Road near its junction with Crystal Palace Road

Almost hit by a pallet loader reversing out into the road with no banksman

Probably part of the construction industry attempt to export casualties from the building site to surrounding roads!!

Yes that stretch of road is increasingly comandeered by developers/ builders on both sides. At times the road is totally blocked by various builder lorries parked up both sides on the road, since the sites face each other. It is dangerous for pedestrians and especially for the elderly, disabled and mums pushing buggies. I also feel very sorry for the shops along that parade whose trade must be affected.

The larger site is large and has already been allowed to temporarily take over the whole footpath. Why then is it allowed to park endless large vehicles and equipment outside the temporary barrier blocking the road? Why has permission been given for two different builds, right opposite each other, to go ahead simultaneously, especially when both are treating the public highway as an extension of their respective building sites?

Yes first mate it has become worse since the glass front shop type property on the right rather than the building on the left has started to be developed. We have noticed this on the occasions we have come past there. It is the same near us on Lordship Lane by Townley Road. Both these sites are MYN developments and a quick search shows that they transgress quite a bit. We found an improvement notice by southwark for Barry Road and even a prohibition notice served by Islington council earlier in the year. Hope you do keep an eye on this Mr. Barber before something serious happens.

Thanks all - perhaps we ought to ask those involved in the Southwark Cyclists / TFL Road works ride to extend the range to poor management of Southwark TM's (temproary measures)....

    • Yep dangerous and worrying and plenty on here seem to either not grasp that or are perfectly ok with it - which is more worrying you think cancerian or any other reform voter will be any happier if reform win? Sure, just like Brexit they will laugh at the lib-tears but as reality hits, nothing but more anger and complaints   And as we see with Brexit and Trump, finding out too late doesn't solve anything
    • Yes, and it's dangerous and worrying.

    • Tell me you don’t understand anything about anything without saying you don’t understand anything about anything  repeating right-wing babble without any critical thought  The Conservatives' "two-tier tax" claim over the UK-India trade deal is nonsensical. We already have such deals with numerous countries. It's only for some short-term workers. It means companies aren't paying into 2 parallel social security schemes at the same time. And the deal's reciprocal
