Hi Annie

This is possibly the worst recommendation ever since I haven't used them, but I was looking at 'Square Space' a while ago and they looked pretty good. They help you build it all online and charge about ?5 a month, but are on hand 24 hours a day. Depending on how you feel about doing some of it yourself they might be worth a shot?

Hello.

I'm a web designer based in Dulwich and can help you get up and running.

I worked as web designer for a large magazine publisher for 8 years and recently went freelance!

I've a portfolio of work here: http://www.madeofsquares.co.uk/project-type/web-design/

Hi annielaurie,

I think that when looking for a design or dev agency, you need to have a solid grasp of product design. Various other aspects of design are also important such as information architecture, interaction design and visual design, but the crucial thing is being able to take a potentially loose set of requirements and creating either a web, but does it in a smart or innovative way.

Another thing that you should look for is experience beyond just design. A designer who's also an expert front-end developer should have an understanding of what it takes to work on the presentation layer of a project. In my personal experience, I found this site http://faststartup.co.uk/ when I was also looking for services for my website. They specialize in responsive website design where your web page can look good on all devices. If you have time, try to check it out. :)

I know a super-talented web designer, Brian Jones, based in SE5, off Champion Hill. He's re-worked, designed and built websites for a couple of my friends and they were really impressed- he's really friendly and approachable and has great vision. He has over 15 years experience for clients in all sectors...look him up!

Would this be the same Chloe Tepi/Tepieri that does the press releases for the company she is 'recommending'? http://business.wesrch.com/paper-details/press-paper-BU187QHISALEP-fast-start-up-launches-new-website-for-your-online-presence-needs

    • Lordship Lane has two dry cleaners, three pizza places and an Italian selling pizza, two burger places, three bakeries, two hardware (ish, I'm thinking AJ Farmer here), God knows how many coffee and charity shops, two Italians, three nail salons, five wine shops... Where was the abject outrage when Dynamic Vines opened up literally next door to Cave de Bruno? But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. Same in any market you go to abroad, they're all selling the same things next to each other.  Why is everyone being so hard on this new place? It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.
    • I have a new fixation so any available, please let me know.  Thanks.
    • In restaurant terms I would say a chain manifests when the motivation is no longer “we are a couple/small group who have an idea and love food” who open a restaurant, them another and then a few more BUT THEN PIVOT to “we need capital to rollout out new restaurants so we have leveraged the help of the following investors”  that is the moment it stops being about the chef/food on the plate and becomes about the spreadsheet  so it is POSSIBLE  for a restaurant to have 50 branches and not be a chain - but I can’t think of any  I don’t know chango - by based on the number of outlets they appear to have just crossed/or are about to cross that line
