Jones & Higgins clock Peckham

What a lovely surprise to finally see the old Jones & Higgins department store clock fully restored and working again after all these years. Recommend going down at night and seeing it fully lit up. Can't believe this iconic shop has been gone from Peckham for so long now, feels just like yesterday since I was in there on a Saturday morning with my mother. Brings back many happy memories. Anyone know what future plans there are for the building?

Perhaps the Clock House could do the same, given that it's named after its clock.

If you go onto Peckham Peculiar's blog you'll see a few articles about the restoration project. Think there's a recent pic too numbers. The time is now correct after 35 years. Not sure what else the restoration project involves, but would be lovely to see the old J&H guilded sign below the clock again.

I remember J&H as being a bit of a mess -) .Very ramshackle and untidy ,lots of different departments .

But this was in the 50/60's ,so past it's best I suspect .
