When I was a kid we went to Swanage every Summer, for years I was under the impression that loads of people were having a crap while they were swimming, I couldn't understand how. It wasn't till much later that I realised there must have been a sewage outlet there, quite near the shore too, YUK, don't know how none of us became sick :X

Margate. Not nearly as cute as Whitstable or Broadstairs, but by far the best beach in the area. Loads of really really great sand and not as busy.

Don't expect to fall in love with the town though.

Went to Broadstairs for the first time on Saturday...it was lovely! We had a fab day. There's quite a bit to do for the little ones too.....it also encourages romance ladies! My man dropped down on one knee on Stone Bay beach and asked me to marry him. A very memorable day indeed.
