Ridgley
Police have arrested a 14-year-old girl after an 87-year-old woman was allegedly punched in the face on a London bus.CCTV footage was released earlier on Monday which appeared to show the elderly woman talking to two teenagers, who police said had boarded the bus without paying. The elderly woman can be seen getting up out of her seat, after which one of the two girls appears to hit her in the face. Both girls then left the bus.The victim received a black eye in what police called the "nasty attack on an elderly woman who just wanted to get home" and was taken by ambulance for treatment at St Helier Hospital after another passenger came to her aid.In a statement, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said a female suspect had been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm (ABH)."The 14 year-old female has been taken to a south London police station where she remains in custody," the spokesperson said.Police said a second female had been identified by police but "she has not been arrested at this time"I would like to see what there parents is going to if at all. KidKruger
Bugger the parents. Who cares what they would say ?These scum should be locked-up by the state. There is no excuse for what they did.The relatives of the elderly lady should be left with the scum to do dish-out their own justice for 30 mins, to help the girls get some context on what it's like being punched in the face. Louisa
What goes through the mind of a young person who could (allegedly) punch a defenceless elderly person in the face? When I was that age I wouldn't dream of answering back to an adult let alone the unthinkable physical assault this lady endured. Absolute disgrace. I agree with KK, let these girls come face to face with the family of this elderly lady. See how brave they are then. Louisa. JohnL
That young girl who punched a vulnerable boy and then said "whatever" in court got 8 monthshttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3092020/My-address-Courtroom-arrogance-girl-14-locked-punching-boy-face.htmlThis is probably worse. To this day I regret that I was so shocked I didn't grab him. Probably a good thing in that I'd have ended up in trouble, but what I wouldn't give to punch him square in the face. Ridgley
So sorry to hear that Louisa, these sub-humans probably have grandmothers. Wouldn't it be odd if they got attacked?Hate the fact some people feel the need to bring colour card in to this. I'm a black female and I want these girls punished and there parents too! We have no way of knowing what was being said in the lead up this horrid act but the girls should have known better. It's shameful and sad. I wish the woman a speedy recovery. Parkdrive
Doubtless a slap on the wrist and being told to run along and not be so naughty again will be forthcoming. KidKruger
Ridgeley, I've re-read the thread but don't see the colour card being played - do you mean in the Daily Mail link ? Parkdrive
To me the colour of the alleged attackers is immaterial, it's a despicable and cowardly sub human act and we shouldn't shrink from naming and shaming regardless of race, creed or colour. LondonMix
I agree KidKurger-- from reading this thread I have no idea what race the attacker or victim are. I also agree its immaterial.I've clicked the daily mail link and its about another story and the people involved are all white... KidKruger
So is the race card being played that the culprits were identified as white ? KidKruger
The race, gender and ageist cards all being played in that article then. Jeremy
"The elderly victim was left with a black eye"I, personally, am fed up with the word "black" being used in such a negative context. Loz
Quite right Jeremy - the article should have highlighted the fact that, after the attack, the pensioner still had one fully functioning and unmarked eye, giving hope and inspiration to indiscriminate attack victims everywhere. uncleglen
I suppose it should have said 'dark bluey-purple,with burst blood vessels in the eyeball, soon to turn shades of yellow and green', like these injuries do.....and those of you that said 'parents' in the plural, are a bit optimistic...
