Well the Brockwell Park fireworks were brill, and much better than I remember Crystal Palace being last year (and free, too!) but getting out of the Park afterwards was an absolute nightmare.

I was so glad I didn't have kids with me, and amazed if noone got hurt.

Total bottleneck at both tiny entrances at the Herne Hill side, with no pedestrian crossing at the main entrance (Railton Road end). People were trying to climb over the railings to get out, and apart from a few police etc at the actual exits, there was nobody apparently to give information about what was happening to the massive queues.

Buses were rammed too, had to walk back to ED :))

Had you had a few last night Declan?

The Latin is a common phrase, indicating even people you trust doing the same as everyone else - in this case Leagle starting (yet another) thread on fireworks

Mild joke admittedly -

Asking admin to include a search function is another mild joke - ie there IS one already. Nowt to do with any "connection"

Why is it mean for you to specifically as about slinking away? I used slink away because

a) "slink" is a great word

b) the whole post was a silly arc of a joke, with the "punchline" being the equivalent of "I'll get me coat"

This place is getting way too serious

    • Two wrongs don't make a right. Labour ran on a manifesto of "we aren't like them" and "we are different" and"you can trust us/we will restore faith in politics". They are doing nothing to convince anyone that any of those promises are being met - they are letting everyone down. u-turning on everything and are fast-tracking the doomsday scenario of a Reform government. Even the runway on the "it's all the Tories fault" is running out. I dislike politicians because they cannot be trusted and Rayner just highlighted that with ribbons on. She should have been so careful after the focus on the electoral roll issues she had with the house in Ashton-under-Lyne and then under a year later this comes up. Clearly the advice she took included a recommendation to take proper advice that she failed to do - that's just daft and the most galling thing is that she didn't just resign when this came up - she tried to spin out of it but must have known she was toast. Trust is fast being eroded. I desperately want Labour and Starmer to fix this because the alternative it too scary to think about but the way things are going they are fast-tracking Farage into No.10. Labour are letting us all down.
    • Same can be said for the current and prior governments
    • Good afternoon, We are looking for a gardener to tidy up our climbing rose. It is very high, so the work will require someone with a tall ladder. can you please recommend anyone?  thanks s
    • So you are also old enough to remember the Heath Out protest by the TUC when unemployment hit 1 million? We all have selective memories, this thread is no different. Please give me a list of the Labour sleaze. And compare it to the Tories.  There are a few of you who appear to have a long term dislike of Labour, so all this is a gift.
