  1. Also remember that if you're using music for commercial use, which this very much is (the fact that it's for the clients personal viewing may mean you can get round it as long as you don't have it viewable by the public, such as on YouTube, Vimeo now and also your own website without a password) you need to licence it. There are lots of ways people try to get around this but they are cracking down and the photographers I know, as well as me, now don't risk it and use the following sites to get licensed music: http://www.triplescoopmusic.com https://www.musicbed.com/
  2. Hi, I didn't use them in the end. I was contacted by two people from other forums who said that they had had a terrible experience with them. They had been left with half done extensions or massive structural issues with their properties and that the company had just closed down and reopened and never been accountable. I got a bit scared off. You can indeed see reviews for the company and the main lady Ganna online if you search so maybe contact them too? The company did quote ?19,000 for a 10 x 6 kitchen extension with glazed roof and underfloor heating and I did really like the process of designing with them. They were also more than happy to let me look at other extensions they had done so maybe look into it yourself? I didn't look into it any more and never had an extension done in the end. Sorry I can't be more helpful! (I was however highly recommended David O'Brien by several people and he seemed really lovely and was more than happy to show me around finished and ongoing building projects. He is also reassuringly quite booked up. He's on 07960 938621 and if you search you can find recommendations on Virtual Norwood forum too)
  3. Hi, we have a ground floor flat and want to do a small one storey extension on our kitchen (approx 7 feet out by the existing 10 feet width). As we are a flat we still have to apply for planning permission. We need to get plans drawn up for the planning permission and also to get some quotes done for the extension as we are not even sure we can afford to do one! Can anyone recommend someone who can do the drawings for us? (And while we are here, anyone to do the extension?) Thanks!
  4. We are putting our flat on the market and we really need someone to come in and do a few jobs for us to make it look nice: Plaster a wall in the kitchen (where we had a boiler removed) Regrout and stick two tiles on in the bathroom Cement loose tiles lining path outside (Photo attached of what needs doing) Can anyone recommend someone who could ideally do all of these jobs for us asap? Thank you!
  5. We had Art of Glass round to quote for a small 6 foot extension to our flat and were really impressed by them. Has anyone used them in the past? We're a little nervous as it's so much money (rightly so, it's structural work!). http://www.artofglassbuilding.co.uk/ Thank you!
  6. Hi, I needed a dress neckline altering from a high round neck to a lower square neckline. It may be a little tricky to do because it's t-shirt material covered by embroidered netting, plus with the shape change. Can anyone recommend someone who can do a good job for me asap? I need the dress for Friday afternoon! Thanks Tarah
  7. Hi, we need to fix trellis to the tops of our fence and are useless at this kind of thing. Can anyone recommend someone to come over to fix it for us (happy for us to supply the trellis - like this kind of thing http://m.diy.com/mt/www.diy.com/nav/garden/fencing-paving-decking/fencing/trellis___screening/-specificproducttype-trellis_panels/Grange-Traditional-Dome-Trellis-Brown-H-0-57-x-W-1-83m-9276529?skuId=9286229&tab=rev&un_jtt_redirect but we do have some but it's a bit old) Can anyone recommend anyone to go this? Thanks!
  8. Hi, I do wedding and family photography and live locally. I'm sure we could do some photos at your house first then head to the park if you wanted to include your cat as well. Do get in touch if you haven't already booked someone and would be interested. www.tarahcoonan.com
  9. Hi, I'd be interested too (ellianess already ran it by me and some other photographers). I'm a wedding and portrait photographer www.tarahcoonan.com I'll follow you on twitter to keep up to date!
  10. I left them after I was having pain in my side, obviously a kidney infection, I got an appointment after a phone consultation and waited 2 days. She took a test and gave me antibiotics, said the results would be back in 2 days to confirm and make sure I was on the right antibiotics. I rang back in 2 days, no results, rude receptionists as usual, rang back the next day, nothing. The day after I was rushed to hospital and spent the next 10 days there. Hilariously, 5 days after being discharged they called me to give me my text results (nearly 3 weeks later). They told me that it appeared I had a kidney infection and the antibiotics they'd given me could possibly make it worse so I needed to go in to get different ones. I was so shocked. I pointed out that it was weeks ago and in the meantime I'd dropped a letter in from the hospital confirming my hospital stay. This letter never made it into my medical records, they lost it. I spent ages trying to tell her I didn't need new antibiotics, she kept saying I should come in. I'm afraid I hung up in the end. They must have left the flag on the system because they called another 2 times to give me my test results after that! I tried to make a complaint but the receptionists refused to give me a form and I imagine my complaint letter never made it to anyone important! I moved to Dulwich Medical Practice on Crystal Palace Road and love them, you can get a same day appointment, they're not open as late but gone are the days of describing embarassing symptoms on the bus!!
  11. Yes, I've heard the same stories. A lady I know bought a flat at the bottom of Lordship Lane (top of the hill) and had to raise ?30,000 to pay to replace all the windows - the costs were shared only between those who owned their flats. They took Southwark to court and the costs were reduced to ?16,000 each but she had to pay it. Shameful. I'd steer clear for that reason. She said she only realised after she looked into it that Southwark have done similar elsewhere. However, I can't find anything online I'm afraid. She was going through this over 2 years ago when I spoke to her about it.
  12. Hi, the police knocked on our door last night as a flat opposite us was apparently burgled sometime yesterday, they brazenly put a ladder up to the window. This was a flat at the station end of the road, by the shops. Unfortunately, even though my neighbours and I were all in we didn't. Did anyone see anything at all? Even if you think it looked legitimate, a window cleaner etc, please let the police know. Thanks
  13. I live on Melbourne Grove, the station end. We are all very fed up with the road works down this road. We understand that the work needs to be done but it is the notification of it that has been a problem. Last night I came home to find traffic cones along the road, inbetween the cars and white spray paint on the road surface saying 'no parking 8/6' - this has given us 1 day notice. Luckily we weren't away for any reason but a few unlucky people are still parked there probably blissfully unaware that they should have moved. This happened with the pavement works in the winter as well (along with us all bring given parking tickets the day after the road works finished as they took away a little sign saying we could park with our wheels on the curb but didn't tell anyone - luckily enough people complained so the tickets were deleted) Surely some sort of notification could have been given earlier than less than 24hrs? I assume that it was not spur of the moment? Also, there is some confusion about the parking restrictions on Melbourne Grove by the shop and the closed back entrance to Dulwich Hospital - some people park there but no-one is really sure that we can (and it would help alot due to the bad condition the sides of my car are in from scrapes since the pavements were renewed and seem wider)Can you confirm whether you can park along those sides in the daytime? I believe there are also 2 doctor spaces. thanks
  14. 08:05 delayed to 08:38, 08:41 cancelled. London Bridge announced severe delays in and out. Underground is also CLOSED at London Bridge due to 'fabric of station'. Snow still coming down hard in City
  15. I've just looked out of the window and seen the snow! It's settled everywhere, Melbourne Grove is completely white. Has anyone got the train/bus this morning? I've got to get to Liverpool Street, via London Bridge
  16. I got in fine this morning on the 08:15 to LB, buses were also running fine. I'd definitely say - watch out for the pavements! Last night I fell over and smacked my head pretty hard on the slope down from the platform at ED, it was sheer ice and everyone was going down holding onto the wire netting but it was still like ice skating. People were really lovely and helped me up but it was pretty painful. I did see a guy shovelling it this morning but last night no-one was there and it was pretty bad. Take care!
  17. I'm on the train from london bridge, it was the 17:18, left at 17:25, no-one standing but im near the back. All seems ok trainwise at the moment
  18. How's the weather in ED? It's been snowing steadly in the City and wanted to know if I should head back soon or risk walking home like last year!
  19. Got the train from ED to LB and it was a few mins late but the 08:05 was delayed 30 mins. I'm now on 149 from LB and it's running well. My boyfriend got the 176 in and it was fine all the way into town.
  20. Does anyone know where exactly in Brockwell Park the fireworks are held? I'm going to follow the crowd but figured I'd ask first!
  21. Piglet, the person who is in charge of the volunteers is Iris and she is on 0208 670 4992. Please give her a call if you feel my actions have been offensive and I'm sure she will be happy to speak to you as feedback is of course very important. I apologised via email to Admin as well. ADDED: And thank you to those above for your support and suggestions.
  22. I apologise if I've offended anyone. It was just that in the past I have had no response from admin when I've replied to them, so did assume there would be no response this time. I had been asked to just post once a week, which I happily did so was upset that that then changed as well, especially if no-one had complained. The recession has hit really hard so there are double the amount of animals in this year. Everyone had been really supportive on here so I was upset that it seemed to come just from one person. I apologise if that isn't the case and I really didn't mean any harm. A Pets section, along with the family and property section, would be really useful and would keep everyone happy. We would then put one post up and update this one post instead, meaning that it doesn't block anything else or get in the way. This is where lost and found cats/dogs could go as well, keeping it clean and tidy. I am solely a volunteer, doing this in my lunchtimes and evenings and weekends, and cannot afford to advertise on their behalf, nor would they ever pass that unfortunately. As we have rehomed the majority of our cats to East Dulwich residents lately I would hate to lose that resource and am so grateful to everyone who has helped and supported us locally. I hope that, as Admin has already said, that a pets section will be considered the next time an update is made and of course understand that Admin, as volunteers just like me, work hard and do a good job.
  23. I'm so sorry but I'm glad that you found out, sometimes it's worse not knowing and waiting. I hope you are ok.
  24. Hi, the vets estimate age by various things (eyes, skin etc) but generally by their teeth I believe. She's in the vets at the moment and they looking after her there. They are normally pretty accurate, give or take a few years I think. She is gorgeous, I've fallen in love with her! She doesn't seem that stray like as her fur is in good shape, and she is used to and loves peeople, although she is thin and her teeth are in a bad way. Old cats can often wander off and forget where they are, so it would be good to find her owner.
