Is Goose Green ED's new kerb crawl hotspot? (Tooting Common)

Recommended Posts

More than 20 suspected kerb-crawlers were arrested so says the Stabbing Times (aka South London Press)please be vigilant around the area. My wife is always being stopped and propositioned by total strangers in and around the Green. Particularly on Fridays. Anyone else had this problem?

This thread is a load of rubbish. The South London Press article is about the notorious red light district next to Tooting Common.

Hands up! Ok it was Tooting but the question was quite serious. So dont fall out of your flip-flops gimme! My missus has been bothered on more than one occasion and so have a couple of her friends up from clapham. Admitadly she hasnt had that issue lately as she is heavily with child (due in six weeks!) I genuinely wanted to see if anyone else had the same experience. We've lived here for three years and I personally think its getting worse.

It's not the pros that are the problem - it's the amateurs

A man in a car slowed down and drove along next to me and asked if I was 'doing business' as i walked home on East Dulwich Grove the other night. (to clarify, my attire didn't exactly scream 'lady of the night.')

I told him to F off and he drove off.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
