The whole 'drop down list' thing is a nightmare. You used to be able to just list the items, now you have to pick from the list which is made of a seemingly random selection of possible items. I have items that aren't on the list, I have tried calling to ask what to do but have been told that it HAS to be done online unless I am elderly?!

I wish I'd known about the elderly exclusion. Doing this for a neighbour who is 93.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, sorry! I suspect I called the main switchboard number and asked for refuse.

I don't know if the elderly bit was correct or she was just saying that to fob me off, surely though, if you're paying for the service, you should get the same help no matter how old you are!

I believe this arrangement has now come to an end. I suspect this is a consequence of the Southwark waste centre moving form the Lambeth border to Old Kent Road.

Do you know whether Southwark will take a freezer away? Our old freezer is on it's way out but still full of food so that when John Lewis' deliver a new freezer they cannot take away the old one as not defrosted or emptied.

Thats good to know as the scrapdealers who used to jump on such items arn't so keen these days due to low value of scrapmetal.
