Alan Medic
Nearly 5 years later, these History books are still available and still free (to a good home). Read the thread for some more details. They are still in their original bubblewrap, so they may have a duel purpose if you are thinking of moving home. Comments from ex professional tennis players welcome. No riff raff please. ianr
Ah, Wimbledon 1890!Lena Rice from Tipperary won the ladies? championship and Willoughby Hamilton the men?s championship. To top this, the men?s doubles title was won by Joshua Pim and Frank Stoker from Dublin. Stoker also played international rugby for Ireland and was a cousin of Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula. https://www.tennisireland.ie/general-news-items/the-history-of-irish-tennis/ Not many people know that. Alan Medic
Welcome to this, the almost 5th anniversary post about a set of books which in centuries to come, will be considered almost bible like. This could be yours now........for free, including the original bubblewrap.Send me a PM if you want to be included in the lottery.Alan Medic Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> This would be of interest to anyone ever> associated with a tennis club in Ireland. Tony2014
Hi,I've emailed my local tennis club in Dublin, near where I used to live, in case they might be interested.:-)https://cltc.ie/site/Tony Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/85896-free-to-a-good-homehistory-of-irish-tennis-3-volumes/page/3/#findComment-1470421 Share on other sites
Alan Medic
Thanks Tony! It's likely they have a copy already. Did you play there yourself? I used to visit Castleknock regularly as my sister lived there. I imagine you know Myo's, which I've been in a few times many moons ago. Tony2014
It's a small world! I'm not a tennis player so never played there and I have been to Myos but it's been a long time. My parents drank there so I avoided it :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/85896-free-to-a-good-homehistory-of-irish-tennis-3-volumes/page/3/#findComment-1470467 Share on other sites
