DulwichFox
I fail to understand why anyone would need Hog roast, hot dogs, Popcorn , Viet street food on Boxing Day. .. or expect people to stand there in the cold waiting for people to arrive.. I would of thought that many stall holder might also want the day off to enjoy some time with their families.. Most people would of made arrangements and have enough food to last them over the Xmas period.. ..but maybe might like to pop to the pub for a drink and meet up with friends if they are on there own like I will be... Some might like a trip to B&Q. IKEA.. PC World.. I don't know.. perhaps there would be some that would take a stroll down North Cross. nxjen
There may be the odd stall or two on Boxing Day but in past years there hasn't been a full market on the Saturday after Christmas. Jeremy
London's quiet around Christmas. I wouldn't bother opening up if I had a stall. Bic Basher
Can't see it being a full market. I've been to Sainsbury's on Boxing Day and it's the only day of the year where you can easily breeze in and out during the day. robbin
Some people are just gratuitously rude, I'm afraid jds. On that theme - DF - it is "I would HAVE thought that.." not "I would OF thought that..."I suppose back in the good ole days the English teaching might not have been as good as it is now...Back on the market theme, I hope it is open (at least some of it) as I will then have an excuse to get out and walk off some of the excesses of the day before. jds
Good point, robbin!I was only asking if the market was open as I have family down for Christmas, and we all want to have a low-key Christmas for few days. Hence, the market will be ideal to escape the household madness for an hour or so! But apparently, according to MD, I need to get a life!I suggest if the market is open on Boxing Day, MD should pop down and tell all the market-goers to "get a life". Or perhaps not as it's an easier option to hide one's face on the forum! adonirum
Happens all the time on here, jds, and robbin is correct. Best to just ignore it and wait for the sensible and genuine contribution. James Barber
Categorically North Cross Road market is CLOSED 26 December as it's a bank holiday. Penguin68
The 26th December is NOT a bank holiday - you never have bank holidays on a Saturday - the bank holiday associated with boxing day (but the 26th is Boxing Day) is on Monday 28th.
