Be assured, Davy Jones will have to wait a while.

My head hurts. My neck hurts. My glands are swollen and my throat is sore. I have prescribed Whisky Macs - just taking the first dose now.

With any luck I'll zonk out and wake up in time for a little TMS.

Wordsworth knew what that song was about...

Will no one tell me what she sings?--

Perhaps the plaintive numbers flow

For old, unhappy, far-off things,

And battles long ago:

Or is it some more humble lay,

Familiar matter of to-day?

Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain,

That has been, and may be again?

I'm really moved by this song.

i heard a story once, about a woman who'd just burried her mother a week earlier. Her mum helped out with babysitting and cared for their son (Daniel) whilst she was out at work.

Clearing out her son's bedroom she randomly pressed play on his bright, yellow tape recorder and out came her mother's voice singing Danny Boy... gently to her son.

really sad - i cried loads.

it was a chosen inheritance track on radio 4 for the above reason

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there - I do not sleep

I am a thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glints on snow

I am the gentle Autumn's rain

I am the sunlight on ripened grain

When you awaken in the morning's hush,

I am the swift uplifting rush,

Of quiet birds on circled flight

I am the soft stars

that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

I am not there,I did not die.

My head hurts. And I'm having the weirdest sensation when drinking coffee - I can feel it go down all the way to my chest.

I need cheering up - this thread is not allowed to become maudlin. Saila and Narnia are now banned until they have eaten from the toast of happiness.

    • As much as I support the protection of wildlife from predators its incredibly important not to don a feline chum with any old collar. Collars can be a hazard to cats. They can easily get caught on things resulting in choking. If cat owners really must use a collar, consider one that is quick release or of the paper kind (yes I know they wont last long).
    • Hi She’s chipped and spayed and let out in the back garden. She hadn’t found her way to the front yet (which would have to be via other people’s back gardens) - but we’re worried she now has and has got lost.  Do your scanners pick up any microchipped cats? Thanks Emma
    • I was recommended George McMillan of  Rodemption Pest Solutions as I had a wasps nest in my roof. I just wanted to say he was very efficient, super conscientious and a very nice guy. My wasps nest is history! his number is 07977 522294
    • Hi, Is Linda spayed & microchipped? & was she let out into the road or garden? Our team carry scanners on our daily routes, so will keep an eye out for her.
