Peckhamgatecrasher
Be assured, Davy Jones will have to wait a while. My head hurts. My neck hurts. My glands are swollen and my throat is sore. I have prescribed Whisky Macs - just taking the first dose now. With any luck I'll zonk out and wake up in time for a little TMS. Pam50
Wordsworth knew what that song was about...Will no one tell me what she sings?--Perhaps the plaintive numbers flowFor old, unhappy, far-off things,And battles long ago:Or is it some more humble lay,Familiar matter of to-day?Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain,That has been, and may be again? Saila
I'm really moved by this song.i heard a story once, about a woman who'd just burried her mother a week earlier. Her mum helped out with babysitting and cared for their son (Daniel) whilst she was out at work. Clearing out her son's bedroom she randomly pressed play on his bright, yellow tape recorder and out came her mother's voice singing Danny Boy... gently to her son.really sad - i cried loads.it was a chosen inheritance track on radio 4 for the above reason Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8685-danny-boy/page/5/#findComment-386590 Share on other sites
Narnia
Do not stand at my grave and weepI am not there - I do not sleepI am a thousand winds that blowI am the diamond glints on snowI am the gentle Autumn's rainI am the sunlight on ripened grainWhen you awaken in the morning's hush,I am the swift uplifting rush,Of quiet birds on circled flightI am the soft starsthat shine at night.Do not stand at my grave and cry,I am not there,I did not die. Peckhamgatecrasher
My head hurts. And I'm having the weirdest sensation when drinking coffee - I can feel it go down all the way to my chest.I need cheering up - this thread is not allowed to become maudlin. Saila and Narnia are now banned until they have eaten from the toast of happiness.
