Anyone who thinks artificial intelligence is a long way off should read "The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurzweil. The graphs from that book are featured on this page -

Technology is growing exponentially. Moore's Law is the most well-known trend, but there are dozens of other examples. The speed, power and price performance of technology is basically doubling every year. This is true for pretty much every area of science - whether it's computing, nanotech, biotech, neuroscience, etc. It's all converging.

According to Ray Kurzweil, we'll have accurate models and simulations of the entire human brain within 15-20 years. That's how fast things are progressing.

Not a professional I guess as most thieves go out with a back pack to carry a couple of tools and also into which they can store their loot
    • Then someone must take multiple cuttings from the tuber and make arrangements for their possible growth into an identifiable plant.  I'll even take one or two myself if any spare and try to create an experimental area in the front wilderness for them.
