Shame I can't post this in the main section but anyway. I've now spoken to a few people about the outcome of the half of the old ED Deli (next to K&W) and it seems most people are in agreement that Space NK will be taking this retail space on. Can anyone confirm this for sure? I've contacted their customer service people and nothing has been mentioned to me (but I guess it wouldn't yet would it?). A few of the retailer I know reasonably well along that stretch have all mentioned Space NK too. Does anyone on the forum have further information? I quite like this shop they sell some great stuff.

LM they've had interest in the area for years but never come across the right location (probably due to size). But this shop is being extended at the back with an increase in sales area. Everyone I speak with brings up Space NK (shop workers/owners etc), and yet I cannot get any confirmation on this. It's frustrating!

It's great news ed_pete. I love beauty products so bring it on I say. Would make a nice change from poncey pretentious produce shops and overrated restaurants. Would you not agree? If gentrification is going to happen, at least have some useable shops like this rather than yet another pizza restaurant.

Better than another pizza restaurant, Canning Town and Barking have a lot of those - gentrified bastards.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
