As predicted by George Osborne recently.

I am 69 and this has been going on since I moved to Champion Hill with my parents in the earlier 50's, why has the football suddenly become a problem. It never was.

Have people changed that much.

They used to let you in free at half time does that still happen?

"And we're talking about a club we'd like to see go up to new leagues etc which would involve the ground expanding from 1,000 to up to 5,000 supporter ground."

Now I really am puzzled by the lack of information from Cllr. Barber!

The current ground has a capacity of 3,000. As set by the London Borough of Southwark when the ground opened in 1992.

We were promoted to the Premier Division of the Ryman League in 2013. In 2013/14 our average home league attendance was 667. Last season our average home attendance was 1,070. And crowds have continued to grow this season, with this Saturday just gone being a season best of 2,249; for a home league average so far of 1,202. Our lowest league gate was a 555 figure, on a midweek night, when our crowds are lower, due to less of our young family orientated support getting out on schoolnigts, the crowd for the mythical drums night being only 617.

The proposed capacity for the new stadium is 4,000, as has always been mentioned as such in all preliminary public consultations with the developers. Perhaps Cllr. Barber could explain where he got the five thousand figure from?

    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
    • Hi Forumites, This afternoon someone in a dark blue/black saloon car collided with my parked car on Thompson Road, SE22 9JR. I have a neighbour’s doorbell cam footage of the collision at 14:30 19/09/2025 but am unable to identify the registration plate. If anyone has footage of a car travelling down Thompson Road towards Crystal Palace Road at that time please PM me. Of course if the Perp would like to confess they can also PM me. Thankyou.
