Busy Mum finally getting her nails done

So, to my embarrassment I have reached my late 40's without ever getting my nails done - not once, I have decided that this Christmas I will remedy this, but I need some advice about where to go. I would like someone who will be gentle with a beginner and am happy to have someone to come to me, or me to go to them. The nail bars that I see on P'ham Rye for example look a wee bit intimidating to me. Can anyone recommend a lovely local place or person to make me finally look like a grown-up woman?

Hey sw, I have been to @999 beauty on ed road a couple of times and have been happy there with the results. It is not a spa/salon/pamper experience but the result and price is very very good.

I have also heard really good things about the manipediwaxclub although never used them

myself. Enjoy your much earned pampering. X

I also like 999 Beauty. I used to go to the nail bar on Grove Vale but tried 999 beauty and now go there instead. I only have a regular mani/pedi so don't know about their other services (gel, etc).

Few times I've been I've had fab service at Glamourous Nails on Grove Vale - good to book in advance (can imagine this wk is going to be pretty busy to walk-in) & always need to remind myself their cash only!

Yes glamorous nails are also good. And sleep ghtly further afield is reecy roos in camberwell. Quite a trendy place (and I am really not) but the staff are lovely. The nailtech Sandra is amazing.

Now, it sounds like I do my nails every week, very much not the case 😉

Thankyou ladies, I will check out 999 and glamorous nails. I feel a bit silly for feeling so nervous about something so relatively insignificant, but it'll be a new experience so your recommendations are all gratefully received. x

I don't get my nails done often (probably about 5 times in the 9 years I've had kids), but the best/most relaxed experience I've had was with Shanie from Manipediwaxclub. I found it less daunting having someone come to the house, and she is really chatty and lovely. Better manicure than I've had from the other salons too.

I haven't been yet but my friends highly recommend Lyttle Minx up next to Bloomers and The Lordship. I have booked to go on Weds.

Another recommendation for Beauty 999. Very sweet ladies there and their manicures and pedicures stay on for ages. Well priced too. They seem to be getting really popular, so I advise booking rather than just turning up (which I used to do).
