cathg
jubilee line from north greenwich to london bridge then overground to ED/Peckham etc. Or taxi. sophiesofa
Yep I agree or train from maze hill or charlton (I think that's the one nearest the o2 but not sure) to london bridge then out again but jubilee line option should be quicker. Have a fun night. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8780-getting-home-from-the-o2/#findComment-267334 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
My brother runs the Antigallican pub in Charlton and I often take the bus from there to Peckham and walk the rest of the way. That isn't how I'd want to end a night after a gig of course, but if all else fails in the post-gig rush it's worth bearing in mind Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8780-getting-home-from-the-o2/#findComment-267338 Share on other sites
thebestnameshavegone
You can get a bus to Surrey Quays and then the P12 from there will take you to the bottom of Peckham Rye Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8780-getting-home-from-the-o2/#findComment-267341 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
mother in law is up that night - I'm trying to convince them to come out but she don't like curry (I know, I know)So that's me probably not making it but I'll keep trying Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8780-getting-home-from-the-o2/#findComment-267349 Share on other sites
Surprise
I work there and after shows just take the Jubilee line to Waterloo and get the 176, or hop on the first bus to Elephant and pick up the 40 or 12 from there. If the last tube has gone or the station is closed due to overcrowding then it's a long bus ride home... nutty
Sounds like taxi is the preference but thanks for all the tips. Is it easy to pick up a taxi after a big event (Murray vs Federer tomorrow night)? Surprise
There plenty of cabs at the taxi rank by the station, but I have seen queues of over a hundred people waiting by the time I finish, with more joining all the time.If you get out literally as soon as the event is finished - don't hang around to use the toilet/buy merchandise etc - you won't have to wait very long. phillyboy
I would leave just before the end - grab a beer somewhere in the O2 and then jump in a cab 40 minutes or so after. Works for me everytime Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8780-getting-home-from-the-o2/#findComment-267498 Share on other sites

Svenbo
I went to see Pearl Jam at the O2 in August and got a cab home after the show - there are little stands inside the venue where you can book one - we had to wait for about 5 minutes but the driver comes to the booth to collect you and takes you to the cab which is pretty much near the main entrance. The cost was ?22 and we were lucky enough that another couple was heading back to ED so we shared the cab and halved the cost. Definitely worth doing! brum
Thames Clipper is good - a fast boat trip on the river, going under Tower Bridge, makes the trip quite special. sack donger
If it was me I'd book a local taxi company to pick you up somewhere near the 02. Its 10 quid from ed to greenwich, so would be what? ?15 from 02 to ed. By booking a local one to meet you at a certain time you avoid the ovbious huge queues for the 'o2' taxis at the end. Jeremy
Greenwich is about ?15 in a black cab to ED. So ?20 from the O2 would sound about right - or maybe ?25 with Addison Lee. sack donger
NO! it wasnt a rickshaw, but a highly regarded knackered toyota corolla. If you book one of the peckham cab firms, it is 10 quid to Grenwich. If you book a dulwich one or a herne hill one it is about ?15. The dulwich ones charge more.
