Suggestions please- looking for a nice family friendly hotel in UK to go in December

Recommended Posts

Could anyone suggest a hotel in the countryside somewhere nor far from London to go for a 4-5 days with small kids?

We are looking for a place with good facilities for the kids as well as something nice for us- fine dining, spa etc..

Does anyone have an idea, please?

Babington House - beautiful and you can get family rooms so your kids are in there too they have their own room downstairs while parents have a lovely big room upstairs). There is a creche where you can leave your kids for 2 hours in morning and 2 hours in afternoon for free. Babysitters available so you can eat in the restaurant in the evenings. The Cowshed spa is amazing and the swimming pool is good (with 3 hours in morning and 3 hours in afternoon when kids can go in)

Not cheap at all but I would highly recommend it as a place to go with kids, while still feeling as though you're having a lovely lovely time as adults.

Another vote for Babington House. It's fabulous. The food in the restaurant is amazing too.We were there before our little one arrived but saw lots of little children happily running around when we were there.

    • I have already said that I don't like fireworks. But I do believe in freedom for others to act within the law for their own pleasure. You evidently don't. So who's the troll?
    • You're clearly trolling. You cannot really be that selfish and entitled, that you would put a total avoidable stress on so many others for your own brief gratification.
    • Does anyone have an unlocked working iphone in good condition that they want to get rid of/sell? Mine was stolen I think in M&S!
    • As the days shorten having evening fireworks for e.g. birthday parties becomes more realistic, the idea that fireworks is only about Guy Fawkes day or New Year's Eve is not a rule. I personally do not like fireworks, but other do, and I would see no reason to stop other's pleasure. I am sure the local Puritans will object, and there are issues about disturbing wild life with unexpected noise. But I'm in favour of simple pleasures. And many do like fireworks.
