Team FitFun fitness challenge for 2016

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, so in 2015 Team FitFun completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, scaling the heights of Britain?s highest peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden; travelling to the highlands of Scotland, Wales and the Lake District. This time round, Saturday 7th May 2016 will see the team exceed the limits of our Tough Mudder challenge of 2014, running 20 miles jam-packed with 200 obstacles at the Rat Race Weekender across the historical grounds of Burghley House, Stamford in Lincolnshire. The weekend also culminates with a killer after party, complete with a live music programme on a beautiful camp site.

Why not set yourself a fitness challenge for the year and join us....Please follow the link below for more info:

  • 4 months later...

In January I posted an invite to join our FitFun Challenge for 2016; you can read about our success story here:

A massive thank you to our team who had to overcome a great deal to achieve this. We look forward to what next year's challenge will bring.

As one of the people who signed up to this challenge I can say how rewarding it was both from a physical challenge and a team building exercise. Darren and Ali set an outcome based plan that you could measure your progress against. We then met once a month for a two hour session to train together and form the team bond. In the end we were voluntarily meeting more than that to train together.

As for the actual challenge it was great fun and again Darren and Ali managed the team through every obstacle and mile. We even managed to 'go big' at the after party!

I know how much courage, hard work, physical and mental strength it requires to get ready for and complete such an event so I wanted to say a massive well done to each and every one of our team members for doing so. The last few months have been truly memorable. As a group we trained, shared and conquered as a team. The greater gains that come with the synergy of finishing what we started together are already so very apparent ? New friendships, Redefined limits and Greater self belief to mention but a few. Rat Race May 2016, Team FitFun!!!

    • is anyone getting rid of one or something similar?   thanks
    • ?????? I have read through this thread and I am totally bemused. It had previously seemed to be a helpful thread, and I  don't want to send it any more off topic by responding to the last two posts by other forum members. Could someone (or admin) please PM me if they think I have stepped out of line and explain why, as recent comments seem to be directed at me and have nothing to do with the subject of the thread. This is a forum, and as in real life people are all  different, with different personalities and sensitivities, and react in different ways,  but the direction this thread has taken is very disappointing. ETA: If the two previous posters want to discuss the points they have made which aren't relevant to the subject of this thread, perhaps one or both of them could start a new thread or threads in the lounge? But probably this thread has come to an end  anyway. Thank you to the other posters for your useful information.
    • Please lmk if you have one for sale. Thanks
    • I totally agree with jazzer having been “jumped on” by various members.. I try and help as that is the sort of person I am, but now will try hard  to just read and not reply.. was down right hurtful to have a comment made along the lines that as I was no longer as person supposed, in ED and moved somewhere else should just leave group. No longer sure what sort of people are on this group - certainly not as pleasant as it was 15 years  ago when people were pleasant, helpful and some things were a joke and much more  light hearted. Everyone has a right to their own opinion as it is a public forum- meaning anyone can join from where-ever but c maybe I have got that wrong as well / doesn’t matter as I will probably leave…
