If you're in a hurry then get a cab or park illegally and treat any fine as a "premium parking fee".

Disabled folk can use their blue badges.

Or you could cycle/speed walk.

If you can afford to run a car then you can afford the cost of motoring regardless of your age. You have broken the law. Pay up.

NO. I am contesting it. The area needs more parking facilities - end of discussion. I pay more than enough in car insurance, fuel and road tax thank you very much. If it wasn't for us car drivers LL would die a death. We need more spaces for short stay, and by all means if a person uses that space and flouts the law they deserve a ticket. I can't believe how many people are defending the money spinning mentality of local councils. It's outrageous IMO.

Lowlander I tend to walk if it's local I just had reasons not to today. I don't think that should mean I get a ticket for using a local facility.

No it doesn't - end of discussion. You wanted the convenience of parking close to the post office rather than parking further away and walking. That's a privilege you have to pay for. Tough.

So you admit you deserve a ticket. Move on! As a car owner myself, I say quadruple the fines and if they're issued in error, there's a process to challenge.
