giggirl
If Apres Ski was an olympic event I would bring home gold for Britain, but as it is, I've given up coming down mountains on my bottom. It's undignified. I think the Icelandic currency is having problems so you might not need ?50bn as previously reported.Enjoy.Px Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8919-skiing/#findComment-270720 Share on other sites

giggirl
Ah yes I see now. Sorry, I'm being dense. There was a time when you needed a serious chunk of change to pay your bar tab after a night out in Reykjavik. Not so much now. Guppy
We were there 3 weeks ago and there wasn't any snow for skiing, we went past one of the areas they use and it definately wasn't up and running. Last winter they didn't have enough snow to open, but try this site it might help http://www.visiticeland.com/infosearch.asp?cat_id=222&area=&type=5&subtype=5.10.0&keyword=KeywordThere is a glacier where we went snowmobiling (really good fun) but we didn't see any facilities for skiing...There is a tourist information office on the corner of Skolastraeti and Bankastraeti with a very charming lady who's surname is Smith (can't remember her first name) she helped us organise the snowmobiling, our horse riding (Mr G on a horse is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen) and the blue lagoon (a must - so bonkers!).We loved it - such a beautiful country, and really cool people - make sure you join the Friday / Saturday night pub crawl. They know how to drink! But freezing cold and v windy so take a hat that will stay on.You're welcome to borrow our lonely planet!
