I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced flooding within their house and or cellar since Southwark had completed their receint flood prevention works on Underhill and St Dunstans? We have lived in our property for 6 years and never had any problems with our cellar until now. Now we have 12 inches of water and it's still rising. It is not a plumbing issue. Our insurance company have said that we are not covered as it is caused by the rise in water table.

Please let me know if you have experienced any flooding around Upland Road too. We are trying to get in touch with the right person at Southwark council.

Thank you!

Hi Tibbs

We've lived on Upland Rd for 9.5 years. In the first few years we used to get quite a significant amount of water in periods of heavy rain, but this stopped happening about 5 or 6 years ago and our cellar is now quite dry.

Feel free to pm me for our address - if we live close by and you are affected but we aren't, maybe it needs looked into further in your property?

    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
    • GP not willing to refer you on? Say, to King's or similar. Odd
