Ellie78
Advice on how to proceed - am going to contact admissions asap but I'd appreciate if anyone has experience of these issues.Typically - I have just realised that I have to provide a document regarding parental responsibility for my primary applications in Lewisham (due in Friday - I know, stupid). The council site lists the following:child benefitchild tax creditchild tax fund letter.I've got no idea where any of our child benefit info is....Of course, we have a birth certificate...somewhere...Has anyone used this before?Typically too - the council tax letter I need to provide as proof of address only has my parter's name on it (I wasn't counted as I was a student and we were getting 25% off)....We are married but have different surnames (and our son has mine). This is going to be ridiculously complicated isn't it.... Fjgb
As I understand it, birth certificate is ok. If your name is on birth certificate as his mother I can't see that they would have a problem with council tax bill being in your name. mika1336
Birth certificate should be ok. I used once marriage certificate as well to show proof as well. Make sure you call admissions team between 9am and midday as they wont take calls after that time. anna79
Yikes! Sorry to crash this thread but I have applied to one school in lewisham (the other 5 are Southwark) and I didn't see anything about uploading anything!! Help!! LondonMix
Isn't it the opposite? Council tax is in father's name only but the child has the mother's surname. Bring proof that your husband is the child's father and his council tax bill and you should be fine I imagine. I imagine only one parent needs to prove their address and it should be either mom or dad. Good luck edited to fix my own typos! Ellie78
Yes, high confusion. In the end I have uploaded everything I have with my name and address on it, marriage cert, birth certificate - the lot. Admissions seemed pretty relaxed with that - but you do wonder, considering the volume of calls they're dealing with with most of them being about documentation according to the person on the end of the line: why can't they just provide clear and comprehensive instructions on the website? Hmm.Anna79 - I think it doesn't matter if one of the schools you're applying to is in Lewisham, as you still apply under Southwark's terms I think if you live in the borough (with your other applications). I'm Lewisham based, so Lewisham demands that I do xyz. Or at least that's what I think is happening... midivydale
Anna79, yes ellie is right. A few of our choices are lewisham based and I did not need to submit docs as i live in southwark. I phoned admissions to double check (praying she is right).
