Hello all,

I've lived in East Dulwich for four or so years now. I play drums and guitar and I was wondering whether there are other similar middle-aged would be rockers locally who would fancy getting together to make some terrible but fun music. I grew up on a diet on rock and metal, but I'll enjoy playing anything. I'm probably more praticed at drums, but don't let that fool you into thinking I'm in any way 'pro'.

I see there is a practice room under the Dulwich Cafe we could use. There may be other good venues as well.

Let me know if you are interested in a little weekday evening jamming and what sort of music you like. Happy to meet up in a local pub to plot our pathway to stardom...

Davide runs a regular jam on the first Wednesday of the month at the Clubhouse, Dulwich Common SE21 7EU (see below for directions).

There's one tonight.

Open mic spots and jam spots available. Starts 7.30pm. Backline provided.

Every kind of music and musician welcome.

Clubhouse, 37 Dulwich Common, SE21 7EU (road runs between Lordship Lane/Grove Tavern & Dulwich College)

Located half way along between Dulwich Riding School and Peckham Town FC

Vehicle Access: almost dead opposite the Yellow Speed Camera on Dulwich Common (South Circular - A205)

There are black gates with PECKHAM TOWN FC signs on each side. Come through those gates and turn immediately right onto the unmade track, it is the grey building at the far end with car park in front.

I'm going tonight. I thought it was Martin's thing but there you go. It'll be a first for me tonight though I may get along to Hank Dog's Easycome later which is at Skehans, 1 Kitto Road, Nunhead. The Easycome is a longstanding weekly acoustic night every Wednesday which is great fun. Some members of the Fat White Family often sit it when they're not touring and the truly wonderful Flameproof Moth and Misty Miller are other regulars. Also at the Joiners Arms in Camberwell on Thursdays.

I've always heard of it from Davide, who when the jam began at DHFC was very involved with the club, but maybe things have changed - I have no idea who Martin is :)

Thanks for coming down last night Sue, Jah & Otta. So glad you really enjoyed yourselves. It really is a great music night out. I always feel like I'm trying to sell it when I tell people! The atmosphere is something really special in my opinion and know you know too. Please spread the word.

Thanks guys and look forward to meeting seabag, kidKruger, Jeff & Andy on July 6th.

    • Direct link (sorry duplicated!):  Today, more than 30 states from around the world will gather in Bogotá, Colombia, for the “Emergency Conference” to halt the Gaza genocide: the most ambitious multilateral response since Israel began its campaign of devastation two years ago. Bringing together a broad coalition of governments — from Algeria to Brazil, China to Spain, Indonesia to Qatar — the conference aims, in the words of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, “to move from condemnation to collective action.” At 10:30 Bogotá, 11:30 New York, 16:30 London and 17:30 Paris, we invite you to join this historic gathering's opening ceremony live from the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will hear testimony from Dr. Thaer Ahmed, who will recount his experience of working in Rafah and Khan Younis amidst Israel’s genocide. Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, will detail her government’s concrete commitments to uphold international law. After she was sanctioned by the Trump administration, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese will deliver a powerful message about the failure of the international system to protect the Palestinian people — and urge immediate and coordinated action by principled states. “Here in Bogotá, a growing number of states have the opportunity to break the silence and revert to a path of legality by finally saying: enough. Enough impunity. Enough empty rhetoric. Enough exceptionalism. Enough complicity,” Albanese will say. Today, the call from Bogotá will echo around the world. Join us. In solidarity,  The Progressive International Secretariat
