Need cake backup...

Had a discussion with a dear friend today about birthday cakes, following which I convinced myself that I could bake a batman cake for my sons 4th birthday. Here is the thing, apart from banana bread, cinnamon buns and the odd ninja turtle cupcakes (from a box) I have never baked anything, ever.

I need a backup, nice local cakes, where can I get one?
