Hi everyone

I would be really greatful if mums and dads can give me some feedback on the Piplings Playgroup advert in family classifieds.Lots of people have been keen for a new creche facility but I have lots of spaces available for the open mornings this week.Is it too near Christmas?!!

Thanks...would really appreciate some comments.

Hi. I saw your initial post and thought it seemed a great idea, but didn't notice the follow up re: open mornings. My son is too young, but I'm sure there would be lots of people interested. Maybe you just need another post re: the open mornings and keep bumping to make sure people can see it?
It caught my eye, and I'm signed up to come along! Maybe a bit close to Christmas, but I'm sure things will pick up in the New Year once people are back into their usual routines and out of the silly season. Looking forward to our visit on Thursday :)
It's a brilliant idea, but for just a couple of hours, I'd rather drop my daughter off to a friend's house so I can get some shopping done, then look after their child in return for another couple of hours at a later date. I wouldn't be able to justify this cost when our babysitter is ?5 an hour although I do prefer my daughter to be around other children as she's at an age where she really enjoys that. But I know it's hard to make schemes like this work financially as there's often lots of costs and paperwork to be done to get it up and running.

Thanks for the feedback Pickle and lorraineliyanage.

Hopefully people will like the idea of the first session free as it gives them a chance to try it! I am planning to do more promotional offers to start aswell like a buy 2 get one free type of thing!!A more affordable way to find out if it's something you want to spend ?20 on.What do you think?

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
