Residents in Landells Road should have received a letter from the council asking for comments/ support or rejection on the proposal to install a static metal cycle hanger outside number 158. The hanger will house 6 cycles and places will be rented on a first come first serve basis. The hanger will take up the space of approx 1/2 car length and will have double yellow lines to one side to allow cyclists to dismount, therefore taking up at least one car space. The hanger will open onto the pavement.

The deadline for comments is early February so whether you support or oppose this hanger please complete the relevant forms and return them so that your comments can be noted.

There are no plans to install a cycle hangar on Landells Road, according to Southwark's website (http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/4144/cycle_hangars_proposed_location_maps). Explains why I didn't receive this maybe?

it says it here https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/cycle-hangars-2

Don't hold your breath.

We've been waiting nearly two years now for ours on Ulverscroft Road, and nearly a year since the consultation.

There have been five (yes, FIVE) failed attempts at installation since December, because a car was parked in the allotted space each time.

Well - DUH. Don't use an easily moveable barrier with a scrap of paper sellotaped to it to reserve the space then .....

And when it gets moved the first time, think of a more effective solution the second time .....

    • A big thanks to Julian for coming out to see to a gutter issue the next morning after a period of incredibly heavy rain. The gutter pipe in question is shared between four houses and the cause of the leak wasn't immediately obvious. Julian made two visits to make sure the issue was fully resolved and was highly efficient in his work and very personable too.
    • Who does it bother? The bikes take up more pavement space and are far more untidy.
    • Eliot built sitting room alcove shelving and cupboards for me earlier this year and did a great job. I highly recommend him. The joinery is completed to a really high standard; Eliot was super communicative throughout and took care to check details with me. The work was done on time and the guys took care to clean up afterwards (not always the case!). I’m extremely pleased with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again.
