Cowell wins when he wins and wins when he loses - he's a great businessman, but I think no conspiracy theories here. Despite few public words he was sending concerned internal emails round Sony last week asking "Who's responsible for letting us compete against ourselves here? and "How did this happen?". The battle probably pushed up sales of wee Joe's sacchrine ballad higher than they would have been but it wasn't about money or sales or a Sony masterplan. Just sticking one up them for a bit of fun.
