Louisa
This is my contribution to a series of noise related threads which have been covered on the forum in recent months.Antisocial behaviour stemming from noise is of course terrible especially when you have young kids who need their sleep. Would it be possible that if in future people have a genuine concern about pubs, commercial and residential premises making excess noise into the early hours, that they contact either the person/business themselves to see if they can resolve the matter peacefully and if no joy contact the Southwark noise team and provide them with the information they need. Does this sound fair enough? I'm sure many people are becoming a little tired with the constant (and excessive) flow of angry posts pointing fingers and blaming others for noise, and achieving very little. Put simply, all you have to do is act upon it. No big deal. I know the forum is a great place to discuss things and get your point across, but I don't think it's fair to point out specific businesses and people without going through the normal channels first. London is a big city, it's a noisy place, I'm sure we can all live side by side without bitterness regarding noise. Louisa. Grok
I agree with Lou. As far as I can see it is just rabble rousing and trying to encourage others to complain when there may not even be a problem. In fact the noise complaint could be false and ftom a disgruntled customer. What makes it all worse is that people register on here, or even re-register on here just to complain. Very suspicious. civilservant
i haven't noticed that there've been more noise-related threads recently than there have ever beenbut: if someone is new to East Dulwich and encounters a noise problem; they hear about the power of the Forum and register in the hope that they can get advice or help - what's so suspicious about that? isn't that what the Forum is actually about?ETA but i seem to have spotted at least one poster who seems to specialise in anti-anti-noise posting - it takes all sorts Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/92527-sick-of-noise-related-threads-please-stop/#findComment-956967 Share on other sites
