Ha - I've done this too! Particularly galling as I was giving a smug 'tip' to hubbie about how you don't need to take the butter out of the fridge hours before to get it to room temperature, you can just pop it in the microwave for 10 sec... Oh. Cue lots of running around squealing with damp teatowels, with husband laughing at me.

Ah well. And while we're on Christmas preparations, anyone else REALLY BORED of wrapping up Father Christmas presents? Where are the elves when you need them?

I would be grateful for housework elves, present and food buying elves, baby entertaining elves... cooking elves....

and elves to wait in for the courier delivering a screen that should have been here Tuesday and without which there will be no rockband at Christmas (tragedy)!

    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
    • GP not willing to refer you on? Say, to King's or similar. Odd
