Have a look on this page:

http://www.southwark.gov.uk/YourServices/educationandlearning/Admissions/startingprimary.html

there is a how to apply section and a link to apply online.

Good luck! (I did it online and was v straight forward)

i know that this will not be helpful, but we were advised by the nursery that our children attend to not submit online. apparently there was an almighty f**k up last year and online forms were declared lost etc... in all the confusion.

their advice was hand deliver to the council or signed for.

i don't mean to post this to scare you but just to pass on info that we were given.

Did anyone apply online successfully for the last intake?

We have received both texts and emails confirming receipt, which I am keeping, so I can't see how they can deny receiving the application?

However, always good to be cautious I guess.

We applied successfully online last year. Those I know who had problems were those who sent their applications by post and no online. If you have received text and emails confirming them you have evidence of receipt and therefore evidence for any appeal should there be any problems (of course, this does not guarantee that you will get the schools you have applied for).
OK have done my Southwark application online but also want to apply for a couple of schools in Lewisham too....do you need to create another log in etc as can't seem to do that and it did look as if I could use the one I've just created (a kind of generic schools application one)but I can't. Arrgghh, sorry am feeling a bit thick about this!

Hi there,

I think you have to do it as an entirely new account, can't quite remember, but isn't it a different website you are logging on to - Southwark for Southwark School and Lewisham for Lewisham Schools? System may have changed of course since I did it.

Molly

I did it on year last year and applied for both Lewisham and SOuthwark. I seem to remember using the same log in etc for both as there was a generic 'gateway' web page and you could create new applications for different local authorities there and log back in to check/alter details etc.

Good luck!

Helen

I've got a feeling this has changed this year. Last year you were allowed to apply to 4 schools in each borough, applying seperately to each. They were talking about restricting this to only 4 or 6 schools in total regardless of which borough the school is in and I guess that would be a common application but not sure best to phone and check......

I think the process should still be as hpsaucey says - you use the eAdmissions gateway for both but do one application for Lewisham and one for Southwark. The one form for all applications, for all boroughs, isn't being introduced until applications for 2011-2012 starters.

The Southwark page has been linked to above and the Lewisham guidance is here:

Victoria.

thanks everyone, but when I go to the Lewisham page it says I already have a login created etc via the generic eadmissions website (which I do, for Southwark) so I can get in but then the form seems to go straight back to Southwark admissions and doesn't give me a choice to change the borough to Lewisham - arrgggh! No worries, I will give Lewisham a call tomorrow but if anyone else had this problem then solved it pls do let me know.

Many thanks

Hi emc. We haven't got as far as filling the form in yet but we are intending to do one for Southwark and one for Lewisham, so if there is a knack to doing it, it'd be great if you could let us know what it is. Otherwise I can see an evening of computer enraged husband coming on!!!

    • It’s even worse this weekend, the bass is unbearable.    The fact SE22 is getting upset about something in an entirely different Borough probably suggests how bloody loud it is that we can still hear it from here!? It must be awful for those living right next to it as I feel stressed enough from half an hour away. I don’t see any benefit to the local community, it blocks off our green spaces, makes it deeply unpleasant to be at home every weekend, and most attending will be from outside of the area. I also wonder if these events are the reason there are so many dead fish currently bobbing around the lake in brockwell park? Pretty miserable for the local wildlife too.
