Another chance to buy amazing books, cds and dvds at amazing prices! The money raised will go to the Asylum Seekers' project at the Copleston Centre (look up SDCAS and you can find out more about the great work they do). You can also sample delicious home made cakes and coffee. Come along on Saturday 13th February from 10.30 to 12.30. The Centre is situated in Copleston Road, close to Lordship Lane, between Avondale Rise and Danby Street. This is a real chance to help others while you enjoy yourself.You can offload your spare books too.

  It's about scale. London was a low rise city and the massive developments in the Elephant, Vauxhall Cross, the City and no doubt elsewhere have come from Livingstone's time as Mayor where he recognised that we need far more office space in London to compete on the world financial circuit, That said interesting that there is still massive investment in retail such as Battersea Power Station and Kings Cross at a time where more and more purchases are on line. As with everything there is probably an acceptable compromise and perhaps the project will be scaled down a little.
