Found this great place yesterday just off Regent St, near Habitat:

It has an amazing children's area with great toys, blackboard, rocking horse, loads of crawling around space, and best of all (ED parents you'll like this) - tripp trapp highchairs! Plus sofas for the grown-ups, easy-going staff, buffet style food - wasn't amazing food but pretty reasonable - and if you're just looking for somewhere to change a nappy, give a meal to a child who's been stuck in a buggy all afternoon, and have a drink yourself, I heartily recommend this place.

Edited to say I probably should have posted this somewhere else as not related to ED, except for maybe the Tripp Trapp part, but I don't know how to move it.

ooh i didn't know there were places in town you can give them a crawl around - mine went a bit stir crazy in the tate modern cafe yesterday (generally a favourite - but not somewhere they can really crawl around without really annoying punters and staff) - so will def try that and also m&P next time I'm up there.

Places i would recommend are Nando's in Covent Garden. Perhaps for toddlers and up. I did not notice changing facilities but probably because I was not looking for them. It was very relaxed and spacious with a reasonably priced children's menu too. Although the eating area is downstairs they have lift that you can go in with the pram. I would imgine they do have baby changing.

I'd also recommend going to the Royal Festival Hall if anyone is ever round that way. I think this is such a great place. There is definately baby changing facilities there. Plus it is on the 176 bus route if you just fancy an outing.

Sorry to jump onto the thread PollyD :))

    • Great instructor. Patient and thoughtful. Don't think he ever expressed any irritation even when lessons became stressful. Teaches you to be a good, considerate and safe driver, quite as much as how to pass the test. Good value for money too. Highly recommend.
    • This has been on the local agenda for years, and always ignored until now as TFL objected, as I recall. The existing housing estate just up from the site would have been sufficient to trigger engagement, had that been then possible.
    • I wonder if DE lobbied for the pedestrian crossings at the junction if they have plans to develop the site for housing.
    • Big black Irish wolfhound wandering around Peckham rye on the grassy area near the smaller playground (not the cafe one). Couldn’t see an obvious owner, he had a collar on and very placid but no details on collar. He wandered off (and I wasn’t in a position to stay) but please can folks keep an eye out if he’s still wandering about later in case he has been abandoned. Park ranger numbers were not working 😞
