Hi All,

I'm new to The East Dulwich Forum so hello! :)

I was wondering if someone could please give me the new address and info regardng the Puddleduck Nursery that use to be at the community centre. I have even tried Southwark Council as far as they have been informed the nursery is still at the community centre which is obviously wrong! I have sent an email to the Head Carol Bromley but am still yet to receive a response.

Please help as I'm very interested in finding out more about the nursery.

Thank you.

And it's just had it's Ofsted report done which is brilliant. Marked as a "Good" nursery, but this is after a major move of premises, having to re-register with Ofsted, take on and train new staff, adapt to longer opening hours, accommodate maternity leave, etc! The report commented that their safeguarding children performance is outstanding and the inspector commented to the nursery that it was only because she had to do a snapshot of the nursery as it is "here and now" that she couldn't give it "Outstanding". But Carol and her team are aware of the areas for improvement and had already identified them.

I'd put my bottom dollar on their next Ofsted report being Outstanding. The leadership is superlative and the team of staff committed, caring and highly professional.

    • I wonder if anyone can help.  My age 16 child has been forced to leave school due to prolonged ill health, onset after Covid.  It’s incredibly isolating and I was wondering if they are any local clubs (art perhaps) for her age group, or just meet ups in the area- perhaps other children out of school/ home educated who would be keen to meet.  Anything very active is out of the question- so sports wouldn’t be possible.  I’d be very interested in speaking to other parents in my position about how they manage.
    • I inherited an electric awning.  It's fab in this extreme weather in my south facing garden. Canvas now decrepit and needs replacing.  Over stretched. Anyone done this - know of anyone who can do this? Advice much appreciated. K.
    • I think that presumption's a false one and that there's no such requirement.  If in doubt try asking 'Who can make a planning application?'   So it's firm evidence at most of just their belief that they might be  setting up shop there.  Putting in an early anticipatory application for their display signage, to lessen any dead time waiting for the permission, might well be a worthwhile expense.  They don't seem to have withdrawn the application, so are at least presumably still interested in taking over the premises.
    • We had Bunny Bowket who smelt, but in our sixth form field trip turned into a nice father type.  But that wasn't Peckham Manor.  Here's a nice link https://www.peckhamsociety.org.uk/?p=279
