Recommendation for. Swift plumbing services

Recommended Posts

Hi I'd like to recommend derrick and Adam of sift plumbing and electrics. They came to install a sink and shower screen and also a shower pump. Very nice chaps and also did a good job. I will definitely be using them again and am more then happy to recommend them.

I can recommend Adam of Swift Plumbing and Electrics too - 07562329834 - he did a good job replacing the flexible piping connecting our soil pipe to the sewer pipe which had been bitten to pieces by rats... from the inside (!). He came by in the afternoon on a no-obligation basis to have a look then returned at 5pm and cut rigid piping to size and secured it all properly. Hopefully this will be rat-resistant. Adam arrived exactly when he said he would and was quick and tidy.

Another recommendation for Adam from us. He came

around very quickly and solved the problem with

our boiler.

Adam was polite, helpful and very efficient.

He worked extra hard to get a spare part

before the supplier shut for the day so

that we didn't have a dodgy boiler all weekend.

If you need a plumber then call Adam.

Another recommendation for Adam 07562329834, he came round to fix and replace our leaking radiators really quickly, making an extra effort to come and look at the problem as soon as he could and then came to fix soon after. He was really nice and helpful - I would thoroughly recommend him and will definitely be using him again. Thanks Adam!

I can happily recommend Adam 07562329834. Very efficient, friendly, clear and quick to respond. Adam was working with two others and they appeared to work incredibly well as a team. Boiler needed replacing - diagnosed issue on Monday evening then came to replace it the next day - thank you Adam, very pleased.

Nice enough lads but not once did they show up at or even close to the pre-agreed time. And three weeks later I'm still chasing about snagging.

The plumbing snagging eventually got dealt with after two weeks but there's still one residual problem, and I haven't seen the electrician or his boss since he left three weeks ago, despite various promises to come on this day or that day. I am genuinely considering hiring a whole new plumber and electrician to finish their work off because I'm sick of trying to get them to commit to a date and time and actually show up for it. Someone once advised me that you withhold 10% of a tradesman's payment until one month after the work is finished just in case there is snagging, and I wish I'd taken that advice.

Sorry lads, but that's the truth and while I'd usually rather not leave a review than leave a bad one, I think it's only fair that if you're being recommended, future customers are aware that you might not live up to expectations.

They were working for me on this date. They showed up two hours late, disappeared an hour later, came back mid afternoon, and declared they couldn't fit the plumbing because the fittings weren't right and now that the plumbing shop had closed, they wouldn't be able to get the right fittings until the morning. So, I'm glad you got good service on the date I booked them for. Because I wasn't as happy.

We've used Adam for a few different things since moving into our new place in ED, namely installing a new mixer tap, radiator and adjusting our dishwasher. Adam's been prompt, friendly and reasonably priced.

Would definitely recommend.

    • @Sue said: nobody is blaming the child, they are blaming the person who should have been watching him g) do you really think it was acceptable for that person to find the situation funny? This is the point. Adults are meant to teach their children by example. It sounds as though the adult guardian/ father in this case did not react appropriately. Had a truly sincere apology been given,  I suspect the OP would not have posted on here. It is possible the OP snapped in the heat of the moment, but they were possibly startled because they were hit from behind? If we are startled it can be instinctive to initially react with anger. I also agree that it would be highly irresponsible to let any very young child ride or walk or do anything on a busy public street without supervision- most of all to protect the child. If in this case the child was out of the adult's line of sight that is perhaps another indication that the father needs a refresh in appropriate behaviour around a child, as well as his manners.
    • Malumbu,  if none of us were there, does that mean that nobody should post anything on here unless they have witnesses from the EDF? Why would someone post something like this if it  wasn't true? This is not about whether children should or should not be cycling on the pavement. There are specific issues. a) the child was out of sight of the person supposed to be caring for him b) he appears to have been  either not looking where he was going or was out of control of the bike c) if he did see that he was about to hit someone  he apparently did not give them any kind of warning  d)  a person was unexpectedly hit from behind whilst just walking along, which in my view makes him a victim e) does the title of the thread really matter as the issue was described in the first post?  f) nobody is blaming the child, they are blaming the person who should have been watching him g) do you really think it was acceptable for that person to find the situation funny? The OP was not complaining about the 4 year old. They were complaining about an adult's lack of supervision of a 4 year old who was not capable of riding a bike and who hit someone from behind with no warning. Also, apart from reading the OP more carefully, perhaps also choose your words more carefully. Jobless? Lunatic? Charming.
    • I have to say, I too am upset about the passing of DulwichFox. He was a real local character, who unlike me, managed to stick with ED despite all of the nauseous yuppification of the last three decades. R.I.P to foxy    Louisa.
    • How long is a piece of string? AI was a bit rubbish on this one, but Checatrade : average cost to paint a house exterior is around £30 per square metre So depends on the size, access, time to put up scaffolding and cost of hiring and building that, surface preparation, and quality of materials.   Checkatrade put it at £2.5 k for average semi, that sounds a little cheap.
