Huguenot speaks the truth.

I think if conspiracy theories spring from inadequacy - a feeling that someone somewhere must be in charge or it would be altogether too scary - then their proponents must be the most enfeebled.

What's worse is that as feeble as these self-proclaimed messiahs are, they spread scare stories in an effort to drag the rest of the public down to a level of paralysed submission.

Hence far from performing a public service, conspiracy theorists are like Tolkien's Grima Wormtongue: manipulating, undermining and destroying people in order to gain power over them.

I imagine that fuels frustration like SMG's. The problem is that the degree of depraved manipulation from conspiracy theorists is so venal it often leaves other commentators aghast.

You really are a bit peculiar Easties EL.

Your measure of 'truth' now appears to be how violent a man becomes if you disagree with him. You like violence?

Does this go hand in hand with the messiah thing? You like to imagine yourself swinging a sword and saving the village whilst fair maidens fall at your feet? ;-)

Indeed, my mistake too. I didn't relise that life is full of BS. People dying in vain throughout history. Toture, rape, murder, humilation, war crimes etc. Reason is treason? No profit in peace? I guess if World War 3 happens our attitudes on life will be very different?

You cannot be an Army Navy Seal for goodness sake.

Naval Special Warfare Groups are by their nature a function of the United States Navy.

And he actually wasn't a SEAL either, he was an undewater demolition expert.

I am quite ambivalent about Jesse, he did great service when he creamed Elizabeth Hasselbeck on the idea of waterboarding being acceptable, then he comes out with the dumb Building 7 theory.

His complete digust at anything Dick Cheney tips the balance for me in his favour though.

Are you tending to agree with Herr Kissinger?

What makes you say that, or question if I am tending to agree with Herr Kissinger? LOL Are you agreeing with me or Herr Kissinger?

No am I not agreeing with him. I can't wait to discuss about global warming next week.:)-D

Right I'm off to watch Richard Keys and Andy Gray introduce to me a Sunday Football fest. A couple of Stellas in the fridge, feet up and hoping that world doesn't end, so I hopefully see West Ham United at least win the League Cup!

If any question why we died,

Tell them, because our fathers lied.

I think you've got problems if you can't see the difference between this truism, Easties EL, and the claim of a massive organised conspiracy between 9/11 and the New World Order.

Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.
    • Crook locks can be sawn through, or the steering wheel to which it is attached, I know to my own cost. The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
    • I’ve reported two instances of mobile phone theft to 999 in recent times. On both occasions several police units have arrived very quickly - in one case they found the perpetrator.
    • With all these high-end car thefts, surely there's a case to be made for all new cars to be supplied with a Crook Lock type device and having insurance invalidated if the owner does not have it in place when it is parked.
