Best place to stay in Cornwall?

Does anyone know the good place/town to stay in Cornwall?

We are planning to go to Plymouth by train and rent a car when we get there,

but we have no idea which town is good/convenient to stay with four years old kid.

I have been looking for a place and I think so far Padstow or Falmouth sounds good!?

Please give us some tips!

We went to Court Farm last year and our then almost 3 year old had a great time, still talks about the animals now even though he was too scared to feed them at the time :-)The Weir is a great place for lunch, 5 mins drive from the farm. Enjoy!

It's lovely and a great place to stay with young children. There's an indoor pool and it's walking distance (15 mins) from the beach at Portreath.


Location wise, it will look a lot further down the line than Padstow/Polzeath etc but it's ten mins drive from the A30 so you can get to most places quite quickly.


Padstow is really nice but doesn't really have a beach, and is not easy to get in/out of with a car.

"Glynn Barton" is lovely. It's a block of self-catering cottages, with a few farmyard animals to feed every day (and eggs to collect), a small indoor swimming pool and a v small soft play area (probably more suitable for toddlers). It's inland but about 20 minutes drive to the coast.

      Quicker than a car…crikey how fast do they go?   I have PTSD from a folding bike I had as a kid that snapped in half when I did a jump! I look at things like this and Bromptons and get the fear which is why I stick to sturdier bikes!

      Earl…that isn’t misinformation it comes from the very report the 20% increase (in cycling stages) claim was taken from and regurgitated by many without actually checking the facts.       Because it's affordable and plenty of choice.   It's a changing and will continue to do so. As with most areas going through the gentrification process it will be all about the night time economy meaning a saturation of drinking holes and ' cool and vibrant ' licensed eateries. Brixton mark 2. I think Covid slowed down the pace of change in the next ' up and coming ' areas and has given many prospective ventures itchy feet and pause for thought because there's less footfall and disposable cash than there was pre covid. Brixton for example is much quieter and visibly down on numbers in both bars and eateries. Across London clubs and music venues are dropping like flies.
