Employment Lawyer

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend an employment lawyer please? I'm returning after mat leave and I'm being offered variation of contract terms, being messed around with time scales and I've had all of my flexible working request rejected on every ground...I'm now off on sick leave worrying about how I'm going to get it sorted.

Many thanks in advance

Hi

Really sorry to hear of your troubles.

I work in HR. Have you got an HR department at your work and could you talk to them first for advice and support?

Also, most companies will have an internal grievance process, so you can raise a formal grievance if you want to consider this.

Normally, when I see an employment lawyer letter, things have gone so far that relations can be past the point of any return so I would think about this.

Hope it all gets sorted for you one way or other.

They do need to consider your flexible working request properly, they can't just say no even if they give the valid reasons they really need to be able to solidly back that up. Have a look at your house insurance policy (buildings &/or contents) some include legal advice for employment situations. Good luck, a very stressful time for you.

    • ??? When they refer to "all Dulwich", I took that to mean including the residents of the streets where the traffic has been directed into due to the LTNs, which are presumably experiencing greater pollution/stress,  whereas the "privileged few" in the LTN areas are experiencing lower pollution due to less traffic. Hence the reference to inequality. Sorry if I've got the terminology wrong.
    • That's interesting, because I thought the Overground would transform Forest Hill, but I don't see much evidence of that. Have I missed it? Can't say I've noticed much change in Penge either though, on the rare occasions I go there 😂 , so maybe I'm just inattentive ....
    • I've not heard of many moving to SE23 from SE22 or choosing SE23 over SE22 in the first place.  Certainly Clapham and other expensive places to the west.  It may be that this is my demographic but there was always a feeling that Forest Hill was rougher, off the beaten track, until the arrival of the Overground changed everything.  But there again the gentrification of Penge is astonishing
    • Much better Restaurant offerings on and around Rye Lane than on Lordship Lane tbh.
