messageSomeone poured gunk on my car
Posted by Houseoflego 09 September, 2019 23:32

Hi,

I parked halfway along Ashbourne Grove today, when I got out of the car there were two bins on the street on the pavement but I looked up the road an a lot of bins were out so I went off to do my jobs. I got back 2h later and there was yellow gloopy stuff all over my windscreen. I rang the doors of the nearest houses as they might have seen something, no reply. A man walked by and I asked him if he had seen anything and he said he didnít park there as cars got damaged.
I took photos of my car and the house to remember where it had happened, a lady came charging out of the house and I realised the person parking before me must have moved her bins. Someone who would trash a car so easily was not someone you wanted coming at you fast and cross so I got in the car, turned the wipers on and got away as fast as poss, straight to the car wash.
What the!!!!!!!!!

I would have gone and fetched a box of eggs from Co-op, and driven past her house slowly whilst pelting the eggs all over the house.

Thatll learn her.

You made several inferences which you decided to treat as all true.

Hi ianer,

You are totally right. The lady may well have been about to offer help. I was fairly weirded out by the time she came out so legged it! Apologies to the lady.

So, what was this yellow gloopy stuff?

Did it wash off?

Could it have been from a massive bird flying over your car?!

Maybe a giant bird poo, if so poor bird, definitely not well. Car cleaners thought it was flour and water.

1) a general hint: Never use the windscreen wipers when someone has thrown eggs on your windscreen. It will make things worse.

2) when I read the title I thought maybe they had actually thrown the well known Motorcycle cleaner GUNK on your car, in which case it would have been a hint to clean your dirty car, but this was not the case so I am sorry this happened.

I know who you are talking about having lived on Ashbourne grove, and she is mentally unstable and sometimes on drugs and use to mix glue and porridge and put on cars who parked in front of her house, she is someone to avoid at all cost so you did well to leave.

I'm sorely tempted to park on Ashbourne Grove, armed with a camera, just to get some good photos for the Forum. My car's filthy anyway.

Thats sad, I had gotten into the idea of it being a giant exotic bird poo.

Absolutely right. I lived opposite for 7 years and this is entirely consistent with incidents that occurred then. Didn't know how to safely approach the situation with her then, and struggling to know what to suggest now I'm afraid...

May be worth a mention to Southwark's anti social behavioural unit as Lola one of the officers, frequently has to deal with residents who appear to have mental health issues. Also a mention to the Goose Green SNT.

Southwark has an anti-social behaviour hotline.
