  1. I heard that London parks may be closing and now regret not going to dulwich park this weekend to get the kids out (but not socialising in groups obviously) A shame if this is the case because of people not keeping a sensible distance.
  2. I am glad you have posted this. Thank you. The rate of muggings is alarmingly high and people may be unaware quite how bad it has become - I know of many incidents this year alone also. Most recently a boy of 11 was threatened with a knife for his phone. Much more vigilance is needed - both from residents and the authorities, sadly.
  3. I rate the vet on Norwood Road - Norwood Road Vet - highly. I wouldn't say they are cheap but I would expect that one on Lordship Lane may have inflated prices, due to location (and probably rent!)
  4. Well done for getting a photo. If you didn't dial 999 at the time - can't imagine there was much time - did you dial 101? Worth it as you have the car registration - could be stolen?
  5. Just wondered if any ED folk have done a laser tag type party for a five year old... some will be only four but as my son loves Star Wars, light sabres, etc, think he would really enjoy it. I have a venue in mind and heard that the companies that do this can bring inflatables, ?bases? etc. Any tips very gratefully received!
  6. Hoping lots of people will come to this tomorrow morning to grab a bargain! ?1 admission ....
  7. Keen to have a good declutter before the end of the summer holidays! Was thinking of boxing up a lot of things. I don't know if they still happen at the Sainburys on Dog Kennel Hill or Goodrich school - does anyone know? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi would be grateful if anyone can recommend an architect with experience of Lewisham planning and Grade II listed buildings. thanks in advance!
  9. Any advice gratefully received. With three kids learning instruments including the drums I'd love to sound proof a room so they can make as much noise as they want! Lucy
  10. Hi My son is a drummer and I'd love one of those garden studios that can be soundproofed, but failing that due to ??? can anyone recommend a company to sound proof rooms internally? Thanks Lucy
  11. Yes people must report it. We have had it a few times and it?s most unpleasant and bullying and when you have young children around especially so. I think it?s really important to flag up when and where they are operating.
  12. It was utter chaos just now as we made our way through it - 6pm Saturday. While the junction layout is a bit of a mess this must be some kind of spillover from something else? Never seen anything like it and we have lived here 8 years.
  13. We have a six month old kitten and we don't want him to get onto the road. My friend managed to cat proof her garden using chicken wire and angled brackets as per the photos. Climbing plants can then make it look less ugly. Is there anyone who could do this job? Would put our minds at rest as our last cat was killed on the road.... we have one or two bits of fence where there is a bigger gap and may require a small amount of trellis/piece of plywood behind a shed too. Might also be worth putting a spiky thing on our side return gate, to deter burglars too. Thanks - PM me or text 07980608411
  14. It's for a 7 year old girl and a large gaggle of friends. Really appreciate any tips! Thanks very much.
  15. We are getting sick of our bikes and kids bikes cluttering our hall and want to buy some attachments that go on the brick wall outside, along our side return. I wondered if anyone could advise the best type? I know you can build a wooden ceiling but I'm inclined to lock the bikes on to the attachments and just use plastic coverings, which I have seen done before. Again, recommendations much appreciated as no idea where to find this or what to buy. Thanks! Lucy
  16. We are getting a puppy in September and have been told good puppy training classes get booked up early. Looking for any recommendations. Also to see if anyone has a crate that would be suitable for a small-medium size dog. Thank you very much!
  17. Hi - as can be seen in this photo we have some concrete in our garden which is circular and blue and we'd like it to be removed. We will then consider turfing/decking/paving it in a more attractive way. There are also some planks of wood and paving slabs (some can be seen to the right of this photo) as well as a dead bush and a tree trunk, so we'll need a small skip. I suspect it can be done in a day but will require a skip and some kind of pneumatic drill (?). Is anyone interested in providing a quote for this job or does anyone know the rough cost of a small skip and whether a layperson would be able to rent the kind of drill needed? Thanks very much .... 18. My son goes to the School of Rhythm in Penge and we rate the teachers there.
  19. Many thanks for taking the time to respond to this - v helpful. I'll call these places up to find out more!
  20. Hi, I wondered if anyone had organised a laser tag party? I'm considering one for my soon to be 8 year old but don't know if there are any companies that any local Dulwich folk might recommend? (and venues that work to host it that don't cost a fortune...). Thanks very much... Lucy
  21. Just now there was a green man - the one that you tell young kids to look out for to tell them it is safe to cross -yet cars were turning from the village into the junction despite the red light and green man - so we just had to stand there and wait. The cars were heading into Calton ave and court lane - at least three: Must be due to bad phasing but they could not have missed us standing there with me nervously clinging to my three year old on a balance bike - he thinks a green man means it is safe to cross, as indeed it should. I have never seen anything like it. There's been an awful lot of impatient beeping lately too, which in itself is dangerous.
  22. Three kids in and I have come to the same way of thinking as the poster above! Just have fun. Maybe get some lessons later for technique! At 2.5 kids won't have a clue about that unless exceptionally mature...
