I recently closed my business and am disposing of boxes and other packaging items. I have 2 Rolls of 500mm (W)x 75M (L)x 4mm JIFFY FOAM WRAP unused and still in the original cardboard box. Only £29 for two or £18 for 0ne Jiffy Wrap used for safe packaging Used for safe packaging, insulation or underlay Product: Jiffy Foam Roll/Underlay Description: Manufactured from "closed cell" polythene, this strong non-abrasive closed cell foam is ideal for protecting delicate items and preventing scratching of polished surfaces, and leaves no residue. The foam is CFC free, giving environmentally friendly protection. The best product to separate dishes and other fragile items when shipping or storing. The lightweight nature of foam helps lower carriage costs. It is also widely used in the construction industry as UNDERLAY for laminate or carpet flooring, and sometimes used as a form of insulation Quantity: 2 Rolls Size (each roll): 500mm x 75M Thickness: 4mm Usage: Protecting sharp/delicate objects

Police chasing young man on bike near Dulwich Library
vladi replied to Jellybeanz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Was the "teenager" using one of these electric bikes with fat tyres? -
Sure, ChatGPT never ceases to amaze.

Why not have a chicane type barrier in the cycle lane either side of a pedestrian crossing so that these cyclists have to dismount rather than mow down pedestrians. That or speed bumps or corrugations to make the cyclists more aware of danger.

Had a green woodpecker visit our back garden this morning. Appeared to be eating ants or ant larvae.

Yes, been on several over the last 12 years. They are one of the safest planes ever built. The Dreamliner has been in service since 2011 and currently about 1,150 are in operation every day. Safe as houses.

Using the smart CCTV cameras is your best strategy - particularly if they have adequate infra-red capability. Setting them to be triggered by line crossing or areas of intrusion is worthwhile setting up as is linking them to a PIR sensor. The PIR could also be used to activate a sounder but that might upset your other neighbours. I have a few cameras around our property and I enjoy reviewing the recordings and apart from foxes and birds, I catch the occasional opportunistic thief on camera - like this one last Tuesday. If you need any help, please drop me a PM. S7.mp4

No pond, so I guess it was after slugs or worms. It was certainly pecking at something in the grass

Had a heron come into our back garden early this morning.

It's been suggested that he may be on drugs because some like ecstasy makes one thirsty. Was that why he stole the bottle of water? But what is strange is that he went in via the front door and reached in towards the rear. He then tilted the rear seat backrests forward so that he could reach right into the back. He did this rather than open a rear or the rear hatch. Go figure! It's my wife's car and she says she always, I RPT, always locks it. Incidentally, our neighbour no longer locks his car because he has had a side window smashed twice now because of thieves breaking in.

As nothing appears to have been taken, apart from a bottle of water, the police probably would not be interested taking prints. But the clothing is quite distinctive and combined with the fact that it is white, male, brown hair, medium build. Not a professional I guess as most thieves go out with a back pack to carry a couple of tools and also into which they can store their loot

At 00.56am on Tuesday this scrote was filmed entering our car. He had a face mask and all dark clothing however the clothing had certain distinguishing features. Perhaps someone can identify the writing on the jacket and trousers. See video clip below Pleased to say he went away empty handed as we leave nothing of any value in the car.

Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth) lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
-
I'd second that.

Electrical work can be dangerous, and hiring an unqualified individual can put you and your family at risk. and negate your insurance. A qualified electrician has the training and experience to safely handle any electrical issues, reducing the likelihood of accidents or injuries. With the exception of simple tasks, it is illegal for anyone other than a licensed electrician to perform electrical work. Hiring a qualified electrician ensures that the work is done in compliance with local laws and building codes. Some electricians are being recommended on EDF but here is no indication that they registered with NICEIC or NAPIT. One is well advised to steer clear of Check-a-Trade which is a marketing service funded by subscription.
