My view is that any party that welcomes a self-declared Marxist would merit a negative point.
-
It was clearly stated that it was "lifted from elsewhere". Or did you miss that?
-
You are most likely correct in thinking that Kinnock, Blair, Brown, Starmer et all knew it. But they obviously thought that his skills, abilities and usefulness far outweighed the negatives. Here is a summary of the positives lifted from elsewhere:- 1. Strategic Architect: He was a primary architect of "New Labour," rebranding the party and shifting its core ideology to win the 1997 general election. 2 Master of Communication: Often called the original "spin doctor," he revolutionised how political parties manage the media. He famously created the "grid" system to coordinate government messaging. 3 Networking and Charm: Known as "Silvertongue," he possesses a peerless ability to charm and network with high-level global figures, including business leaders and heads of state. 4. Governance and Trade Expertise: Beyond strategy, he was considered a highly efficient minister, serving as European Commissioner for Trade and Secretary of State across multiple departments, including Business and Northern Ireland. 5. Reinvention: His capacity to adapt to changing political climates and rebuild relationships reflects personal resilience and strategic flexibility. With his skill and abilities, he delivered results for all his bosses. In the short time in Washington, he found a way to get on the right side of Trump - despite him being critical of Trump in previous years. That said he is complex personality. He can be simultaneously brilliant and arrogant, thick-skinned yet sensitive, and selfless for his party while appearing narcissistic in his personal dealings. My OP asked if he would be accepted over the pond. It turned out he was because he got on famously with trump. He worked out the correct strategy to get on the good side of Trump and secured a better trade deal than the EU and other nations.

Before voting, do you not think it's logical to evaluate each party on its policies and make a tally of the reasons "For" and "Against" voting for each party.

Late delivery of mail should not be blamed on LL Post Office. Delivery of mail is the responsibility of the distribution office on HighShore Road Peckham. Things must have been sorted at LL PO as there has been no queue there the last four times I passed by mid-morning.

At last, I've found a good reason to not vote for the greens.

With the right type of feeder arrangement the access by parakeets, squirrels and rats can be eliminated completely. Likewise, the spread of disease can be minimised. The best method is to hang individual feeders inside a wire cage that has a 2"x2" mesh on all sides that is mounted above ground. Being above ground it stops slugs and rats getting in. And with mesh on the bottom, the risk of transmitting disease from any droppings is eliminated. Small birds feel safe from predators in three These cages are available online for about £33 -
Selling one's property by oneself is totally feasible if one uses an online agent to get a listing on Rightmove. RightMove will not accept listings from individuals however if you use online agents such as Strike , Purplebricks, Yopa, 99Home, TheHouseShop etc. They act as a "gateway" for you into RightMove or Zoopla. They offer Professional photos and floorplans (sometimes optional), Enquiry forwarding and Optional extras like hosted viewings.

Greenland will fade into insignificance if Trump messes with Iran now that he has moved a massive fleet offshore.

Looking for suggestions for good restaurants that allow BYO.
-
Instead of trying to grab the largest island on the planet, Trump would have been better off starting with something smaller -such as the Chagos islands. That way the UK would have saved billions by not having to pay Mauritius £100 million a year (index linked) for 100 years to take it off our hands.😀

At least he is no doubt classified as a "useful idiot" by the Russians
-
Sure, for as long as that idiot is in the White House. For starters, let's stop buying anything from Amazon and use UK suppliers only. Here's a few other businesses/services we could easily do without:- Google ( use Qwant instead) Paypal ( use Wise, Revolut or Skrill - all UK based) eBay ( use Vinted) Tesla (plenty of alternatives) Apple ( Samsung with Android is better value) Cadburys (USA owned since 2010) here are a few other brands we could easily find alternatives Procter & Gamble (P&G): (Gillette, Pampers, Ariel, Pantene, Tide). PepsiCo: (Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Quaker Oats, Gatorade). Coca-Cola Company: (Coca-Cola, Dasani, Minute Maid). Kraft Heinz: (Heinz Ketchup, Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, Oscar Mayer). Campbell Soup Company: (Campbell's Soups, Pepperidge Farm).

Greenby are back n my good books again! I raised a ticket yesterday and carried on trying various things myself to solve the issue. What solved the issue was me dragging an email from my trash into the folders that were not displaying any messages. As soon as I did that, all messages reappeared. I followed up on my ticket by advising Support of this and got this enthusiastic response:- That's brilliant news - great problem-solving! It sounds like you encountered a webmail display glitch where the folder indexes weren't refreshing properly. By dragging an email into each folder, you essentially forced the webmail to re-index and refresh those folders, which brought all your emails back into view. This is quite a clever workaround, and I'm glad you persevered to find it! The good news is that your emails were always there safely stored on the server - they just weren't displaying correctly in the webmail interface. If you experience this again in the future, you now know the trick. Alternatively, sometimes simply logging out of webmail completely and logging back in can also refresh the folder listings. Is there anything else I can help you with today? I still rate them 10/10 as they are quick to respond to tickets and are good at explaining things such as above.

I may have been too premature with my praise because this morning the save emails in 5 folders have all disappeared!

Yes, I got migrated 4 weeks ago and all is fine. Everything came across OK. Greenby is using a later version of RoundCube than Plusnet had - which gives more options. I selected the Classic interface rather than the other two offered. Classic is identical to the old Plusnet. Very pleased with the outcome.
