Sugar was a video shop called Dusaras and then a Barber shop.. Dulwich cafe was Starburger and before that - an amazing steak house....
  3. There is also a garage further up Melbourne next to Mr Lui's chinese restaurant - not sure how noisy they can be, you might want to check that out if you're looking nearer to Colwell Road.
  4. Having Lived on the same road as Speller's for over 30 years I can say they aren't noisy at all. They haven't actually been openly trading for a number of years. Hope that helps.

Hope ur sons ok That would be my son.... who attends Charter, he told me yesterday that a couple of kids from his school have been robbed this week both to and from school. These happened in the North Dulwich train station - Casino Avenue area. it's very worrying. So glad your son is ok and I hope it hasnt knocked his confidence in anyway.

Well said - I mean if you were giving a witness statement to the police surely you would have to state, colour, sex, height distinctive marks, scars - missing limbs etc... so why do people get their backs up when its mentioned on here, especially colour.
  7. I've just come across this bit of advice below - does anyone know if this is true.. If you live in a flat If you live in a flat, the bailiffs may have the right to break down your door once they?ve got in through the main entrance to the block. However the legal situation is not clear-cut, so if you live in a block of flats, get specialist advice if you know the bailiffs are coming. You can get advice about dealing with the bailiffs from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
  8. Are you sure you wasn't in a permit only box, this happened to me one day, a warden watched me park in the box put a ticket in the screen and when I returned there was a parking ticket, when I confronted the said warden it was in fact issued because I had parked in a permit box, which was not clearly posted..... although it was my error that time they are a bunch of tw*ts... hope you did park correctly and get it sorted..
  9. Yep, i'd agree with Sue, especially if you were coming from the Elephant & Castle area, i've seen this happen a few times around there.
  10. On Tuesday night / wednesday morning I went to the Barclays machine about 2.30am and my card struggle to exit the machine also however I managed to pull it out grab my cash and go, but I did notice a couple guys and a woman of Eastern Europian appearance hanging around the cash points. They didn't appear to be drawing cash. When i got back in my car they had crossed the road and were standing outside the barbers opposite Adventure, smoking and hanging about. I wonder if they were setting the machines up for people that would use them the following morning.
  11. wow, I never even knew there was a bar up there..
  12. why would it need 2 men to obtain a signature - surely they would split up in order to cover the road/area quicker. It'd be interesting to know if this is legit.

R.I.P little angel..
  14. Nunhead Bodger, your a pro at this, excellent.
  15. My niece goes to Heber and she loves it, her mother has no complaints with it either.
  16. Sorry to hear that it's awful.. this is why I fully agree with those that say do not open the door when you aren't expecting anyone. It's a shame that we have to live like that but it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope you're children are okay are not too upset if they witnessed this b'stard, can you give an age range??
  17. My neighbours shed was broken into last thursday night (friern road) and two of his bikes were stolen, his garden is not even visable from the road. Saw the police this morning on friern looking between the houses on the side that backs onto Upland road. I hope he/they are caught soon - how brazen to enter someones house at any time let alone that time of the morning.
  18. Oh this did make me laugh... good luck Louisa if this is the case.... got to ask though - did you say thank you at the time..lol.
  19. Celestial - has not been there for anything like 20years.
  20. Doesn't this description of the guy who was thought to be following a lady from the underhill road area one morning when she was on her way to the train station - fortunately she made it to into the police station. Can't find the thread but the description definately rings a bell to something I have read on here previously.
